Here is my big question: WHY are you Liberal, or Conservative

I wanted to be liberal. But when I realized they have to lie and hide their true stance on positions such as gun control and late term abortions I just couldn’t do it.

And of course I believe in personal responsibility which is sunlight to progressives.

Media/ TV: Fox News/ Limbaugh/ Hannity during the Obama years: tan suits are disrespectful to the country, “terrorist fist jabs,” low unemployment doesn’t matter we need to focus of the workforce participation rate, no salute getting off the plane, Dijon mustard gate, etc. ad infinitum.

Do you seriously not remember any of this?

As far as academia goes, it’s hard because there are few conservative academics. Let me just say, though, “gender studies” is far less harmful than climate denial propaganda shit science or “tax cuts will pay for themselves” economics.

There. Your turn.[/QU

Fox news doesn’t even come close in comparison,I asked you about the collective craziness of the liberal protest machine and you had nothing as a counter but Fox News......Nothing I say is going to change your mind so I’m not going to bother trying.

Here you go:

there's a study about terror attacks in 2017 which shows that 2/3 of the terror attacks that year were from right-wing extremists.

Here's a list of right-wing terror attacks:

In a broad sense I am liberal because the solutions the left offer are generally more well thought out and effective than the solutions offered by the right.

In a specific sense, I am from Florida a state that has been run by the right since 2000. It can stand in as the poster child for Republican favored policies: it's right to work so unions are weak, pay is low, and employers hold all the cards.

Our governor is Rick Scott, the proto-Trump big businessman turned politician who did little but enrich his business partners and cut taxes for the rich.

Our state education system, which wasn't great to start with, has taken a complete nosedive as a good chunk of state funding was turned over to private charter schools which are run bare-bones to make their shareholders profits. Our public education has focused almost completely on standardized testing which has eliminated the teaching of critical subjects in favor of teaching to the test and which has brought our state's k-12 education ranking down anywhere from 40-47. Our university's tuition costs have gone up ten-fold but our state sponsored scholarship program has gone down in value at least five times in the last fifteen years.

Tourism has remained the predominant industry in Florida and yet the conservation efforts on our natural habitats have been shrunk or removed instead of expanded. We currently have a massive red-tide problem that has infected some of our most popular beaches and waterways.

State lawmakers have attempted to make Florida appealing to big tech companies in order to draw in new industries, but many companies have refused to make the move because they couldn't find enough qualified talent in Florida.

Our population grows massively every year yet our state and local governments remained underfunded because every politician promises to cut taxes when they are elected. As a result our state infrastructure is terrible and ineffective. Developers rule this state and you can expect new housing developments to constantly pop up all around you while roads are pushed beyond capacity and your child's classroom is 40-50 kids to one burnt out 34k/ year teacher.

We are largely treated as the North-East's nursing home. Those damn Yankees retire here with their fat pensions after they make all their money in a state with an actual effective economy, then when they get here they are catered to by the politicians and refuse all tax hikes while additionally always voting to expand the homestead exemption act which pushes the tax burden further onto renters and off the back of property owners.

On an anecdotal level, this state has created a big population of 18-35 year old underemployed (gas station, low level retail, w/e) young men and women who can never afford to get married yet have multiple kids with multiple partners. Anecdotally, while the girls are partially to blame, the guys are worse, bouncing around from girl to girl refusing to use protection and making so little money that they never have to pay child support, always burdening their parents (who are often, but not always, conservative or ultra-conservative btw) and never amounting to shit. Yes a lot of rich people move here for the beachfront property, but that's not who Florida often produces.

In America, on fundamental matters you can hardly get a cigarette paper between the two main parties. Most of the contentious 'issues' the people fight over are deliberately manufactured in order to reinforce the facade of political choice.

On the two most important issues in human history, climate change and nuclear disarmament, conservative politicians behave like raving lunatics.

Expanding America’s nuclear arsenal and polluting our atmosphere are both very obviously stupid policies. Both unnecessary and motivated by clear, transparent greed.

Nothing else really matters.

I lived in a foreigner ghetto for 5 years. You know the Nazi memes about how those people are itching to kill whitey and will be the doom of us all? Reality is much worse.

Yet, somehow, you are still alive.

And that invalidates my own, first-person experience how?

FYI, I moved after had become the only non-foreigner in the area. My neighbours vanished over night (their door was kicked in and "everyone knows what's up, but nobody has seen anything").

EDIT: Typo

You said it was worse than them wanting to kill you.

I'm a Christian, and the liberal worldview of pro-abortion, pro-Islam, pro-homosexulity, pro-transgender, social justice, anti-white male, and anti-Christian, does not fit with what I believe. So I am a conservative. That's why I can't vote for liberals today.

I’m not a Christian nor do I believe in a God
Per day but agree with you that those pro institutions have destroyed our country.

You don’t have to believe in a higher power to clearly see the evidence of their destroying our values ie 50% of American kids are now born out of a family. That’s going to hurt us a lot

Not only that they are brainwashing every single kid in schools across the country with this shit

Liberal because I believe that in the richest country the world has ever seen, people who work full time and pay taxes their whole lives should be able to retire with dignity, and that a family should not lose their life savings, home, etc. because their child got sick.

I am a Liberal/socialist because its a better system.
If you look at the countries in the world that work best for the largest amount of the population they are usually democratic socialist.
Im a republican/capitalist because its a better system.
If you look at the countries with the best athletes, businesses, leaders in tech, winners, they are usually capitalist

{<huh}
What does the structure of a country's economy have to do with their athletes

For the largest amount of population????

Sounds like Commie zhit to me.

I'm not American, so I'm not really a "liberal" or "conservative".
Most of my politics are informed by strong belief in meritocracy, egalitarianism, good stewardship and the inherent value of human life.

And social democracies create the best meritocracies. Crony capitalism leads inevitable to feudalism and non-meritocratic oligarchies.
