Has Anyone But Fedor....

Condit > Alvarez
Hendricks > siver
Hughes > Mendes
Penn > Holloway
Nick > Nate
Plus gsp has plenty of other champions and top 5's he's beat
Aldo is Coner's best win and it wasn't the best Aldo.

Mendes alone is better than all the WWs you listed.

I have Fedor as #2, Silva fought better competition as he defeated Hendo (who beats Fedor), Belfort, Sonnen (2x), Franklin, Griffin (LHW), Bonnar (LHW), Jeremy Horn (LHW), Newton (WW) and Maia (WW).

Fedor good wins were:

1 - Cro Cop
2 - Minotauro (2x)
3 - Coleman (2x)
4 - Randleman
5 - Hunt
6 - Sylvia
7 - Arlovski
8 - Schilt
9 - Herring
10 - Arona (LHW)
11 - Sobral (LHW)
12 - Lindland (MW)

So yes, Maia and Newton wins absolutely count, despite them being real welterweights.

....dominated for a decade like he did?

Does this unparalleled 10 year window make him the clear GOAT?

Strong Points:

- Never Popped for PEDs
- Often times fought his opponents in the area they specialized in and won
- No legit losses (31-1*) from 2000 - 2009
- Average of 3.3 fights per year
- 84% finish rate
- Beat #2 & #3 HWs of all time during that time
- Beat multiple former UFC HW Champs and perennial contenders
- Beat ALL of PRIDES top HWs besides Barnett
- Didn't go to UFC, but SF HW divisions was very strong

Possible Arguments:

- Fought some sub par competition in Japan
- Never fought in UFC after PRIDE collapsed
- Didn't fight Overeem in SF
- Has had a bad end of career
- Clearly lost focus/motivation in later stages of career
There is like a 99 percent chance Fedor juiced in Pride. Regardless of that though, he is still the most amazing HW I have ever watched in MMA.

Lol yes? Jose Aldo was undefeated for 10 years straight beating the best of the best in the featherweight division. also yea, Fedor never fought in the UFC and proved himself on the biggest stage, he beat great competition though such as Big Nog, Mark Hunt, and Cro Cop, other than that... nothing impressive... would've loved to seen if he could've survived in the UFC. he should've went straight there after Pride. just my opinion. I am a Fedor fan, but I wish we could've seen him in the octagon.

Word Aldo had a mean run.

Lost very badly in his prime is my only qualm with him in GOAT status.

If we're just talking about wins/dominance, Jones is #1 by a mile. His run is so good its unreal.
With the recent PED busts, however, its hard to rank him.

He was the best HW of his era, but that's it. That's not saying much considering how awful the HW division is though.

The reality is he's not even in the GOAT discussion and is being quickly forgotten about and rightfully so. There's so many asterisks next to Fedor's name I find it laughable the nerve of a few old men left here trying to push their agenda.

Jones could've done the same if he wasn't such a fuck up.

I'm a new fan. In fact, I got into MMA last year from Conor/ Diaz II, but I easily see why Fedor is held so highly. From 2000 to 2005 he mauled the best HWs and LHWs on his era, and after that he had a bunch of good wins also (Prime Arlovski, Sylvia, Coleman). Don't forget, Stipe recently got a TS off beating a past prime Arlovski. Fedor did end up getting beaten in SF, but it's not like he's the only fighter who lost a lot later on. Silva loses now, GSP retired after a brutal fight with Hendricks, Jones to himself so many times, BJ would probably be beaten by a FLW now, Overeem can get KOed by anyone nowadays, post-injury Cain was soundly beaten by Werdum, etc.

Fedor is like Matt Hughes if GSP never happened. Cain could've been GSP. Stipe might be the GSP of the HW division (I hope he is). But as it stands now, no one ruled HW like Fedor did. Until that changes, he's the HW GOAT.

- Has had a bad end of career

I like your post, with the above exception. Most guys "have a bad end of career" when they stick around too long. He clearly hasn't been in peak shape, or drive for a few years, but that's what a lot of fighters do.... Coleman, Chuck, BJ, Randleman....

Not at HW. Not even close, actually.

(Outside of HW? The other big 2... and maybe JJ, if we're being generous.)

Should have been Jon but he faced an opponent he was unable to defeat usada.

Hey... when did @TheRassler get a second account?
If that was my second account, Aldo wouldn’t be on that list either.

Boring point fighters/blankets are automatically disqualified from the GOAT discussions.

GSP and Aldo are not in top 5.
