That will take reps off!
It'll probably be worth it for the power you gain in the bottom. YMMW, but it made my press take off like crazy!

I'll train with them, then roll them down when my programme gets closer towards heavier triples, doubles and singles and see where it is. It's either that or compete in the equipped categories but then I'd might as well wrap my knees..
The qualifying lifts in the BDFPA aren't that high for my weight category at 90kg. My current squat max is 200kg, and its 185kg to qualify for the British (if I was doing a single lift comp). I don't see how knee sleeves can put 15kg on my squat, so If I have a goal to squat 185kg in my second attempt, then I can just go balls out my 3rd attempt and if I miss it then it's cool as long as I hit that qualifying total.
It's squat 185kg, Bench 127.5kg and Deadlift 205kg in the single lifts which total 517.5kg, but you have to total 520kg in the unequipped category to qualify for the British. Worth a shot I suppose.
The meet I did in June didn't allow sleeves, I put the sleeves on to warm-up, then pull them down for my top set, and then put them back on again. Unless you are wearing tight SBDs or Stong sleeves (so tight you gotta fight to get them on) they aren't giving you much weight. I squatted 418lb in the meet without sleeves and I definitely left weight on the platform. That was only 12lbs under my gym max in sleeves.
