This isn't a "pussy-for-promotion" case. This is a coach-fucking-his-athlete-while-she-is-under-18 case, which is governed by the sexual battery statute I already provided you in this thread.

Keep in mind, the girls are suing US diving, not the coach. This will be a civil trial claiming US Diving was negligent in some way.

Charged? no he wasnt, because US diving covered the whole thing up. Thats the point of the lawsuit. They have already admitted the picturtes exist and they have been keeping them since 2014.

Your original claim, in posting the statute, was that this was an open and shut case of "rape" based on the fact that, even though the sex was consensual, consent was arrived at via "deception". This is exactly what occurs in many, many workplace sexual harassment cases. But I have yet to see even one lead to a rape conviction.

And, again, AOC in Ohio is 16.

It's not always avoidable. Coaches, teachers, private music lessons, one-on-one sessions with a medical professional, if the child is making a statement to the police, counseling with social worker or member of clergy, etc. These are just examples off the top of my head. The reason that this story is news is because there are positions in society that are given in exchange for public trust, and when that trust is abused, it affects the way we collectively view the relationship. The relationship between a coach and their athlete is supposed to be one of trust to help the athlete grow to fulfill a physical goal. This was clearly abused here.

Some people don't want to deal with the public scrutiny that comes with pressing a criminal rape charge. Sexual harassment civil suits can be settled privately and the depositions and related stuff doesn't end up in the public record.

Threat. Intimidation. Pressure.

Offering a promotion in exchange for sexual favors is different from threatening to fire someone if they don't provide sexual favors. Or threatening to scuttle the person's career by giving the promotion to someone else unless a sexual act occurs.

"Sleep with me and you'll get the job." vs. "Sleep with me or I'll give the job to someone else." And, yes, there is a difference but, as always, it's going to be dependent on the specific circumstances.

How does one force someone to take nude photos and send them with a smart phone? I emphasize the word force.


Secondly, the photos have been collected since 2014 with no action taken? Bullshit. Someone has taken action I'm sure, probably well over 100 times.
