Zookeeper Gabe's Animal Thread V7.0

haha wtf is that? It has the body of a cat and the ears of a dog, lives in the wild but is completely unafraid of humans.
It's a young mountain lion, the black tipped tail gives it away.
I would have pooped myself, that cougar could have killed her in about 5 seconds.

yeah, initially I thought that but the head and ears was so foxlike. Are the juveniles really that bold?

They're usually really elusive. I've seen tons of tracks, dead carcasses that no doubt were killed by a mountain lion, etc and I've only ever seen one.

That lady is so damn lucky, Cat was just wandering through its territory and wanted to know what was going on.

There were two cougars and a puma in that video!

A juvenile wandered into a parking garage in Santa Monica a few years ago coming down a small greenbelt near PCH from the hills.

Popo shot it at city hall's request.

Can't risk that tourist money.

It's really bizarre how closely and nonchalantly that mountain lion(?) walked by o_O
Most house cats are less relaxed around strangers.

Damn, lol. Now that's a professional.
No, that's stupidity especially if she knew what it was.
Only thing that would have made the video better was if he stopped and pissed on her leg on the way by.

I don't think I'd EVER turn my back on that thing or let it get behind me, much less be all calm if it was in front of me!

did anyone else lose all attraction to that woman after the mountain lion completely ignored her?

here is a delightful video to get you in the autumn mood

Elephants are awesome, my fav animal since childhood with wolves and lions

wut... elephants are amazing. Really the only animals that can give us a sense of sheer massiveness of dinosaurs.

though many sauropods were muuuuch bigger. Most of the famous gigantic theropods like T. rex, giganotosaurus, etc... weighed in the same range as elephants. 6-12 tons. (12 is like record weight)

Damn I’d love to see dat 12 ton bull, maybe in something bigger than a jeep though...

Sauropods were all neck and tail. I've got my money on a bull elephant vs a brontosaurus. Like Cormier vs Struve.
