Zookeeper Gabe's Animal Thread V6.0

Amazing. Talk about nightmare fuel for people who are afraid of snakes.

I can't wait for Planet Earth 2 to be released.

Snakes had the numbers, iguana had the speed. When he turned and burned down that beach I couldn't believe how many snakes came out to pursue him.

Its one of the greatest nature sequences I've ever seen. The comments said it was like a decent into hell. 6-10 foot long snakes emerging from the rocks all down the beach one after the other, all in pursuit of this young iguana. His escape was gdamned epic. His final leap to the ledge at the top with a snake striking at him in mid air is seriously awesome. I watched that multiple times.
I just watched it again with this playing in the background. Goes perfectly. (you actually have to wait until the first snake creeps up to start JQ)

lol "nooooo." I came here to post that video. Glad to see it's already been enjoyed. I've seen 3 episodes of the series so far. good stuff. Not sure if quality is any better here

I'm thankful for a lot of things in my life. I'm thankful for all the amazing critters I get to share my life with. Lost three this week, an owl, Madagascar tree boa and a green tree Python all had to be euthanized due to advanced age related issues.
One final ride to Valhalla all shiny and chrome.

Blue Porcupine Puffer. pelagic porcupine puffer. It only get a foot long, about 1/2 the size of a normal porcupine puffer.

I would think a pelagic puffer would benefit from a larger size.

Especially considering puffers of that body style are usually open ocean fish. They haven't caught very many though.
Apparently those pics above are when they're a juvenile.

That guy was a photographer; there were a few bears down in the river he was shooting.
That bear looked pretty young, too. I wonder if that guy had a gun with him.
At that distance a gun wouldn't matter, odds of you stopping it dead in it's tracks is nill to none.

Still freaking epic to be that close to a Grizzly bear just chilling, Then you see a whole valley of them down there catching Salmon. I love that sight would like to see it. Bears usually only attack when threatened with Cubs or super hungry. This guy probably knew they were just eating Salmon annually style.

@Zookeeper Gabe

Kind of a dumb question, but what do you guys use in snake enclosures? The reason I ask is because I always remember as a young kid my buds and I (I know it's not right we were young and stupid) would always tap on the glass to try to get the venomous snakes to strike. They never did. Is it double-sided, tinted, or do the snakes just not care?
