Zookeeper Gabe's Animal Thread V6.0

they can sometimes kill their predators. one of the reasons why responsible owners feed them frozen mice/rats.

Yeah, that's just nasty as heck, man.

When you catch wild snakes (anything that eats adult sized mice or larger) they almost always have scars from battles. Now in the wild one or the other will get away but in a cage if the snake isn't hungry or is intimidated it will just tuck it's head and the rodent will go on the offensive.

What attack can a mouse have that will hurt a snake?

Rodents have incredibly sharp teeth (tons of pics from stupid owners online that fed live) and if the snake can't get away it will just try and protect its head. The rodent will just chew away, if you've ever been hit by a mouse/rat/hamster it hurts like a bastard and bleeds pretty badly.

lol. That's just the dominant tortoise kicking the crap out of another one. He's the reason he's flipped in the first place.

I did wonder. Figured it couldn't be a case of "Bro! Check out my sweet new moves! ... Oh shit ... Little help?"

Our new prehensile tailed porcupine George. He has a weird habit of sleeping like this. Most sit on their haunches.

Hosing my alpacas on a hot day.

Even mice? Mice can chew threw snake leathery skin? Then mantis exoskeletons must be very tough. I have seen vids in which mantis owners feed their pet mantid live mice. The mice try to fight back, but to no avail.

If the mantis wasn't super hungry the mouse would do the same thing to the mantis.

Does that fella make noises like this?

Very bizarre and charming creatures. Almost monkeylike.

Lol. Kemosabe, mine aren't quite that chatty and George is still young. So as he gets older his
Personality will come out more.

Hey Gabe, i made a mistake of getting friendly with a Squirrel that came in our backyard. I started feeding him peanuts and he came closer and closer to the door. Unfortunately he's gotten so brave and comfortable that he gnawed a hole threw the screen door and came inside! All of a sudden i see him chilling on the kitchen table, I was like" get the fuck out of here". He's came back a few times! I dont know what to do.

Lol. First I hope you learned your lesson.
Second if you have a water gun/super soaker can squirt him with that and chase him. Loud noises whenever you see him
Near your place. Get a hawk, rattlesnake or other animal that enjoys eating squirrels.

I grew up not too far from here, and I've never heard of deer being anywhere near the ocean.

It's harsh, but sounds like the only solution is a pet orca to act as a deterrent.

Rats will slice eachothers jugulars with one bite when they fight. They basically have scalpels for teeth. I imagine mice are pretty similar.
