Its great to see more and more captive bred fish. There has been successful breeding of about 60 different fish, but only a handful that interest the aquarium hobby, excluding the bajillion clown fish variations. We're starting to see more hobbyist fish get bred and made available commercially, which is awesome.

Is it normal for cocks to scream when there is no other cocks around?

Pretty much whenever they damn well please. They tend to do it less and less as they age though. I had some free range that liked to roost in a tree next to my bedroom window and crow between the hours of 2 and 4 am. I was glad when they finally died off.

Roosters do it the most often when they wake up, I let mine out of the coop around 7am so that's when he goes off the most though, he still does it throughout the day.

If you were in New England I would have guessed it was a female grass spider (which are pretty common here and basically harmless). But it looks like you are in the UK, so....dunno. A quick internet search suggests it's either a tube web spider or a giant house spider. Based on the coloration I'd guess giant house spider, but the legs look shorter than all the picture examples I could find, so I'm really not sure (and I'm no expert on the subject to begin with).

I'm not sure, but I'm sure its equally susceptible to fire as the rest of them.

We had put the chick in to lure her in and then for her to have for dinner. We decided after we were able to separate them (took two hours) to bring the chick into our education collection. It lived to 9 years old

Do you have to feed all the predators with live food?

Cute skunk pictures should be incoming in next few months. We are getting a baby in our Ed Dept.

Damn, so I got bit by snake the other day. Not really his fault. He had recently eaten and I was just trying to grab some shed skin and change his water without handling him but he turned around and struck. Did a full coil on my arm. Not surprised at his constricting strength but I was surprised how much the bite pressure was as well as the sharpness from his teeth. My hand is actually still numbish and weird feeling like he got a nerve or two.

a skull for reference
