What's so hard about them? I know they're really dirty animals but that's about it.
You being an experienced fish person wouldn’t have much of an issue. But the average person is woefully unprepared for the amount of water quality issues that they cause. Basically, they get big, smelly, dirty and need expensive lights.
@TribalDrumz I always recommend Russian tortoises, Greek tortoises and a few species of box turtle for people that want some sort of shelled animal. They are hearty, don’t get too big but still have loads of personality.

Anytime someone has asked me about turtles, it's usually parents asking about getting a red eared slider for their kid, I always bring up that turtles live a long time. Most people immediately get turned off when you mention they can live 30 years.
I really want musk turtles but I'm old enough that I might die before the turtles and I can't guarantee their care if I pass.

A breeder in Thailand is working on a Percula yellow clownfish.

Yes, I talk so many people out of aquatic turtles. They are an amazingly rewarding species to do right but that’s pretty difficult.

Man, you could hear his internal workings by listening to his breathing. They handled that well it looks like, at least compared to how I probably would have done.

@Zookeeper Gabe Have you heard of any big losses from the reptile breeders in Texas from the storm? I've seen a couple of fish breeders lost almost everything.

You hear about the Reptile ban in Florida? Crazy

Florida is full of invasive species. If this is what it takes to stop the spread, then so be it. I don’t like it but I understand it. As long as they have data to back it up of course.
They have Tegu’s, iguanas, pythons, giant african land snails, red ear sliders, lion fish, pleco’s, and a bunch of other non native animals taking over.
