Your least favorite animal protein?

Lamb chops - disgusting
Pork chops - disgusting
roast beef - disgusting

WTF? Done right all 3 are goats. We have a Roast Beef place in Brooklyn called Brennan and Carr’s. Been there since the 30s. Double dipped rare roast beef sandwich with melted cheddar cheese. Dipped in au ju.

All of them are my least favorit! I am a soy boy through and through. Give me that lemongrass tofu!

Lamb chops are good and easy to season and prepare. Are you cooking it well done? How are cooking it? I basically like most animal protein except for organ meats. If I had to choose among your common options, then turkey is my least favorite.

I gotta go with lamb chops. They taste really weird to me and I don't like them at all. They are supposed to be some fancy dish here too. I do like the gyro meat from lamb.
Lamb chops from lashish in MI are theee best tasting meat you can get..

I generally don’t like lamb either.

Try turkey that’s not over cooked

Dude, totally get why Oysters could be hated. But man when they are done right they are amazing. New Orleans does em right. Great with Tabasco and a beer. Lobster on its own is over rated to me. Clams are great if fresh and done right. But I spent ha
F my life hating all seafood. Now I love it....just never opened myself before.
Other half doesn't like them on the half shell but loves them breaded and fried or Rockefeller.
I love raw oysters, a nice mignonette and a martini is a perfect night out, if not Tabasco and lemon. I can't eat them without any flavouring though.

I eat all sorts of offal, but the stench of andouillettes was fucking terrible. It's pretty much where poo is stored. I didn't know that. Ordered it for my last meal in Paris and could only eat the fries.

I'm not fussed on pepperoni or mortadella but that isn't really the animal's fault. I really can't think of anything. There are things I WON'T eat like shark fin because it's cruel as fuck and things like dog because they're pets, horse because I used to ride every day, rabbit again had one as a pet.

All cuts of lamb are amazing though. Lamb chops marinated in yoghurt and various Indian spices on a searing hot griddle so it catches and you eat them like lollipops, they're awesome.

I thought I told you not to @ me?

Just kidding.
<{ohyeah}>

Yes indeed andouillette is a very acquired taste. I remember the story of someone from the anglo-saxon world who ordered andouillette and when he tasted it made a scandal in the restaurant because he legit thought that he had been served something foul.

:rustled:

Probably venison. Tastes like it sounds. Deer meet. Just bland and not very good. Not bad either. Just not good.

There are certain cuts that if cooked a certain way, can be delicious. For some it takes a good bit of experimenting to find the one(s) you personally like. I couldn't begin to count how many I've eaten, but overall I still prefer beef. But backstraps or tenderloins fried very hot, but very rare with salt pepper and garlic powder is still one of my favorite things to eat. Also worth mentioning "venison" is a generic term, whitetail meat tastes vastly different than elk or moose, which are typically considered much better tasting.

I would say my least favorite I can think of would be antelope. It just doesn't have a pleasant taste, sort of tastes the way it smells. Mine took on a strong freezer burnt taste after spending one night in the fridge. Loads of fun to hunt on the prairies, but there's a reason some people say they aren't worth eating.

With deer, i find the issue is:
A) someone gut shotted it
B) allowed dirt/hair to get on the meat
C) didn't age it long enough (14-21 days hang)

I'm not particularly fond of cytotoxic proteins, myself.

True, and I'd add one more. Most people cook it far too done. Even cooked medium, it's dry and tasteless.

Venison and elk have always been pretty meh for me. My buddies who hunt get really excited when they have some in their freezers. I’m like, “You should hunt cows instead.”
