your favourite "crap" movies

If you're defining "crap" by using Rotten Tomatoes scores, then.

The Lords of Salem

A film by Rob Zombie. I loved every minute of it. Love the vibe and the look of it. Some scenes are gorgeous, especially towards the end.

44% on RT and mostly hated online.

The Last Witchhunter

I was thoroughly entertained all the way through, and it looks great. Surprised it got so much hate.

16% on RT

Strange Wilderness

I found this movie to be really funny.

2% on RT. I think this might be the lowest scored movie on this thread.

Valhalla Rising
IMDB 6.0
Raw and dark, carried by a fantastic atmosphere.

Out Cold. It has an 8% on Rotten Tomatoes

Bunraku has a 22% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has a decent cast of Josh Hartnett, Ron Perlman, Woody Harrelson, Demi Moore, Kevin Mckidd, Jordi Molla, and Gackt

Star Trek: Nemesis. It got panned by virtually everyone, but I thought it was the best of the TNG movies.

Yeah I'm not in the least bit religious but I agree it's a damn fine movie. Say what you like about Mel Gibson but there is no denying that the man knows how to direct a movie.

It's a shame he hasn't spent more of his career directing. There was a nine year gap between Braveheart and Passion of the Christ. Then two years from Passion to Apocalypto. And then a full decade from Apocalypto to Hacksaw Ridge.

@AgentSmecker, you really did pick some doozies.

From your list, I've seen Doom, Ghost Rider and The Warrior's Way. Doom I remember thinking was just not good, plain and simple. Ghost Rider--I remember seeing that one in a theater in Jackson Hole, WY, and thinking it was okay. It's not a film that I've had any desire to revisit, but I also didn't think it was nearly as bad many people made it out to be. And as for The Warrior's Way, it had some interesting ideas and I appreciate the uniqueness of it, but I also ultimately just find it kind of dull.

I'll add this one into the discussion, which I was just discussing the other day in another thread - Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

6.1/10·IMDb
15%·Rotten Tomatoes
1/4·USA Today
21%·Metacritic

It's a fun, surprisingly R-rated film that puts a unique spin on the Hansel and Gretel story. I never did understand where all the vitriol came from, with nearly every critic giving it a low score. I do agree with the guy who said this though:

Made in Germany, this raucous adventure merrily refuses to follow the usual Hollywood route of blanding-down a fairy tale for the lowest common denominator.

Yeah, I enjoyed that movie. Nothing wrong with it, imo.

That's not a bad movie. These are good bad movies:

Giant Shark vs Giant Crocodile is stupendous. The etch a sketch like special effects were made by stoned high schoolers I think. Marvelous movie.

Zombie Apocalypse was yet a nother masterpiece in that genre. Ving Rhames, Crabshackman, and zombie tigers? What's not to like.

Special mention to Chupacabras vs The Alamo. Erik Estradas best work since, well, ever!

stop eating my sesame cake !!!

Its not even close man congo is my fave bad movie of all time I could probably quote the whole movie to ya

I remember this one. It was kind of interesting.

Jim Caviezel is underrated. He should get more roles. I've heard Hollywood kind of shuts him out because of his Christian views.
Funny thing was that before Iron Man was ever cast, Jon Favarau put up an online poll for fans to cast their Tony Stark. Jim Caviziel dominated the poll but Favareu decided to ignore that poll and went with someone who wasn't even mentioned for the poll. It may have been great because it was Robert Downey Jr's comeback or that Caviezel would have been a great Iron Man

Hmm, Jim Caviezel as Tony Stark . . . now that's an interesting thought.

He was in contention a few times as other superheroes too. The original Cyclops in the X-men movies before Marsden was cast and Green Lantern. At least as Cyclops he wouldn't have to wear heels to match with Famke Janseen's height

Yeah be nice if he'd spent more time behind the camera but he's still young enough that we will hopefully get a few more gems out of him and I'd rather he stick to making the movies he's really passionate about.

I know he's been talking about doing a Viking epic called Berserker for years now. I hope he can finally get on that.

I'm finding out films i really like are apparently crap in this thread. Scott Pilgrim was such a fun film with so many quotable lines.
Scott Pilgrim has an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, 83% of the audience liked it, and on IMDB it's at 7.5. It does not fit the definition for a crap movie in any way, shape or form. It would be a cult film, however. I liked it, but I also read all the graphic novels.

For crap films I love, I would have to go with:
The Room

Miami Connection

Yep, nearly everyone who saw it loved it. But not nearly enough people saw it. It did terribly at the box office.

Miami Connection

Fun and hilarious, but needs more ninjas.

Hmmm yeah I was actually just thinking about that there when I was typing my last response. I don't doubt that Mel can do something remarkable with Viking lore and he is a master at crafting gorgeous scenes of full on ultra violence. Apocalypto had some truly eye popping stuff and though I haven't seen it in many years I recall Braveheart's battle scenes were very impressive indeed.
