You think Mir can Beat Overeem?

Honestly after the Bigfoot and Browne fights I won't count out Mir this time lol. Overeem SHOULD beat Mir KO/TKO Round 1. The worst part about Overeem's losses is that he was dominating Bigfoot the first two rounds and was killing Browne until he front kicked him. Any other referee would've stopped it. Yamasaki fucking sucks. That is all :)

Actually, Yamasaki was smart enough to tell that Browne wasn't nearly as hurt as most people watching seem to think he was. He covered up well and blocked almost all of those shots.
Reem, on the other hand, dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Nice, you answered your own thread title in the very first sentence

Only a fool would write off Frank Mir. Yes this is a dangerous fight for him but he is an intelligent fighter and he can fight to Overeem's weaknesses. Mir is strong, has good boxing and improved kicks plus no fear of being taken down, and he's lethal on the ground. There are plenty of ways for him to win this fight. For someone his size his cardio is fine, he looked fine against Cormier cardio-wise.

Mir fanboy here- I think there's an 80% chance of Reem pressing Mir up against the cage and just wearing him out until he lands 2 hard shots that rock him and he finishes a wobbly kneed Mir

Unfortunatly Mir has those amazing submission skills but no takedowns. He showed it once and I wish he would have tried again in the JDS fight- a goofy guard pull where it almost resembled his de la rivaish leg bar on Lesnar. There's a chance mir can pull guard- go for an ankle if he needs to, and takes a big 'ole horsemeat arm home with him. Would love to see this, but a Reem smashing is more likely unfortunately

I think all this bias build up towards Reem is only setting this fight up for one of the greatest upsets in recent years, and I can only say that when it happens, people won't be TOO suprised that Reem got had.

I think mir can pull a submission victory but overeem will probably tko mir.

i know he can. and both HWs are safe as long as loser is willing to take a paycut. you people saying "loser leaves town" know that ufc needs all the HWs they can get?!

Good point. But trust me there are plenty of HW's in the world. UFC has to start shelling out the $$$.

Anything can happen, but even with Overeem looking like shit last few fights, this is a perfect match up for him
