You think Mir can Beat Overeem?

Unlike Browne and Bigfoot, Mir doesnt really have much power to put Overeem out with.

Since this is a standard "loser leaves town" matchup, I'm hoping for a Mir upset. In all honesty, I don't see how Mir can beat Reem other than waiting for Reem to gas.

i know im over analyzing this match up..

I just see Overeem smashing Mir in the first and being able to take whatever mir throws his way... Overeem usually gasses and lets his guard down when he gets Koed

I dont see any way this fight can go good for mir besides catching Overeem with a shot like he KOed Kongo with.

Mir folds under pressure (Overeem is a beast when it comes to pressure in the 1st round) Mir is pushed up against the cage and held there easily (where overeem will unleash worse than Carwin did) Franks chin is questionable at best (Overeem hasnt shown the greatest chin but he certainly doesnt seem to fold as easily as Mir)


He has been finished by Carwin, Jds, Barnett, Lesnar, Vera, and was nearly finished by Big Nog in the second fight..
Overeem is probably a better striker than anyone on that list and hits harder than any one (ARGUABLY CARWIN HITS HARDER)

The only way I see this fight going is brutal first round KO from Overeem. Knees and punches

Pretty much this. Look how Mir has lost all of his recent fights. He gets pushed against the cage and eats power shots. Whether standing or on the ground, Mir has a hard time getting off of the fence against a big, strong opponent. Look how Overeem has fought in a cage. He will close with Mir, push him against the fence, and drop him with a knee or uppercut. Mir's only chance is if he is still lucid enough after getting dropped to snatch a limb as Overeem swarms him. Other than Cain, I can't think of a worse HW matchup for Mir in the UFC.

The worse part about this fight will be the aftermath where every thread will be something like "REEM IS BACK!!!!!" and "REEM WOULD DESTROY CAIN!!!!!"

Mir is pretty much tailor made to lose to Overeem. But I thought Overeem would steamroll Bigfoot and Browne easily so I'm not so confident in Overeem at the moment.

I hope he wins. I expect him to win but he has disappointed recently so we'll see.

Highly unlikely. Mir won't be able to take him down, and he'll get lit up standing. I'm not sure what the odds are but I'd have Reem at minimum -400.

It feels like it's been ten years since Overeem won the K-1 tourney and smashed Todd Duffee with ease immediately afterward. That Overeem should maul Frank Mir 10/10 times.

Today? Eh. Bigfoot was supposed to be an easy fight for him. He got knocked out. Browne was supposed to be an easy fight for him. He got knocked out. Mir...easy fight on paper, but I'm not brimming with reemfidence.

This is too exaggerated. Reem definitely is not the same guy without horsemeat, but Mir is certainly not the man to put pressure on reem and make him folds. However, reem is the last real k-1 champ. In any circumstances, You NEVER can't win a world grand prix of k-1 if MIR beat you standing. Bigfoot and browne striking are very underrated here and he still manages to kick these ass until he gassed and folds under pressure. But mir is nothing like that.

People forget that bigfoot was the only man who managed to outstrike Fedor?


Overeem by KO in first two minutes, probably clinch knees, but possible hooks.
