def a better fight but man still not sure what to make of GFL. Isnt there an event in April, is there even a date or venue? This just feels like something that maybe gets off the ground and runs events for this year but doesnt return next year cause it aint gonna work.

But maybe thats given them too much credit, this shit might not even make it to event 3

My buddy thinks GFL has no money and the org is basically announcing fights with big names to help try and find financial backers

This fucking company still doesnt even have a TV/media deal and half the fighters are going to pull out (still havent seen Frank Mir pulling out of his fight but obviously he aint fighting anymore), this is so not going to even make it out of the first year.

"Yoel, bad news. You have to fight someone who might actually kick your ass now."

I'm confused as to how this is supposed to work. Shogun was signed to Team Sao Paulo, but as a LHW, so why was he scheduled to fight Yoel at MW? And if Shogun was pulled, why not be replaced by another member of Team Sao Paulo?

The whole team and division structure seems like it's just all for show. Feels like it's a story line that can be fabricated for points on the backend of trying to fill out their circus fights

Shit's gonna be like AEW rankings. Sound really important at first but inevitably ignored in order to appeal to giving top position to the stars the other company had

99% sure they aren't fighting each other... just at the same event
Yeah, the website shows

But strangely, it does say that it's a heavyweight 265lb match, so Arlovski could still have been an option?

*edit*
The former UFC heavyweight champion (Arlovski) will compete against Terrance Hodges, debuting under the Dirty Boxing banner at DBX 1 on March 22. The event takes place at The Hangar at Regatta Harbour in Miami and is headlined by Yoel Romero vs. Ras Hylton. The promotion offically announced the matchup Wednesday.

Screams staring contest but hopefully I'm wrong and it's somewhat entertaining.

Is the GFL actually going to happen?
It sounds like someone is just throwing names around, I wonder if any contracts have been actually signed.
Reminds of a while ago when some guy tried to put together an MMA tournament between Strongmen Brian Shaw, Eddie Hall, Mitchell Hooper and Martyn Ford (not a strongman but big guy). That fell apart because they didn't get paid, contracts were broken, etc...
It feels like the GFL is going to end up being the same thing

Is it or me of GFL feels like we're going to see one event, then realise it's the dumbest MMA org ever, and never going to ear about it ever again ?
