Yoel Romero made weight in my book

True, but it is weird that they aren't universal rules. In Canada he is following the rules but in Chicago he isn't?

Imagine if other major sports had such large differences for important games. Itd be like moving the 3 point line back 2 feet in Cleveland but keeping it the same elsewhere in the league.

or like one ball park having a 40' wall in left field, and another one having a damn telephone pole in the outfield........

Lmao so we’re blaming the scale now? I’m done hahaha
I dont have a dog in this fight.

I just logged on to see a title fight being scrapped over .2 lbs.

Yes, scales need to be calibrated after every fighter gets on them if theyre going to be pissy over .2 lbs

You got 200 lb guys jumping on the scale it will get fucked..

I agree that a universal rule would be better, but that's currently not the case and Romero knew that going in (if not it would be an egregious oversight by his team). You have to pick a limit. If you say "well, 0.2 over is OK" then 185.2 is the new limit. You can say that 0.2 lbs is "nothing", but it was enough for Romero to not be able to lose it in time.

I assume you are using satire to reference Boston Red Sox 37 foot wall. I don't watch enough baseball to get the telephone pole reference though

nick diaz had the same argument against gsp. Other shitty thing is the commission stopped the cut on him while he still had time even tho there was a dr who said he could continue. Yoel was robbed here

I love Nick Diaz but I wouldn’t trust a single word that comes out of his mouth when he talks about the whole lead up to that GSP fight.

Yoel has only himself to blame, he knew the rules but managed to fuck up anyway.

Some people here care more about fighters making weight than fighters fighting <Lmaoo>

That's not the case at all. We all want to see the fight. The main complaint is that Romero is essentially cheating by coming in heavy.

The amount over is irrelevant.

gsp stated he was 170.4. Theres different rules for different commissions. This one is straight on the dime at 185 where as others let you go up to .4 over.

Hope they can just by pass whatever rules are in place and make the fight for the title.

You are reaching my dude. I think it sucks too but come on, Yoel fucked up. This is on him, no one else.

I still don’t know what point you’re trying to make here?

Yoel Romero made weight in my book.

It's 0.2 pounds, which in the past and present would have been allowed, in a title fight, depending on the location, and always allowed in any other fights.

The difference in opinions amongst regulatory bodies over different locations may and does exist, but it does not provide a universal criteria for making weight, but for allowing certain requirements to be met before the fight is given a green light.

0.2 pounds out of 185 pounds would mean that

Romero weighed in 0.1 percent, not 1 percent or 10 percent, but 0.1 percent heavier than Whitaker.
"Yoel Romero made weight in my book." . I agree , but its not our book that the UFC is using .

Im not reaching for shit.. Was the scale calibrated before he stepped on or not?

If theyre gonna call the title off over .1 lbs then we need to be 10000000% sure the scale is correct. You constantly need to calibrate the scales they use for weigh ins. They better have done it before he stepped on

BREAKING NEWS:

The UFC and or athletic commions dont care about your or my or anyones book from sherdog
