News Yan vs O'Malley UFC 280, October 22

Say what you want about who's gonna win but give Sean his props for having the courage for wanting to fight dangerous guys like Cejudo and Yan. It disproves his hater's theories about him being afraid of top fighters. I'd rather he fights Henry at this point because Yan is very active, but it is what it is.

They went from padding O'Malley up with no-names for 4 years now to randomly giving him the most dangerous match up in the division? At least give him someone like Marlon Vera before this? He couldn't beat Chito or Pedro Munhoz, but fuck it, lets give him Petr Yan

UFC is throwing their children who can't swim into the deep end

I think UFC has realized they can't protect O'Malley anymore and he could lose to pretty much anyone in the top 10, so they are hoping they can hit a grand slam by giving him the top guy and then a title shot after

If O'Malley miraculously beats Yan and makes it look easy (ala Conor vs. Eddie Alvarez) then Dana White might die of semen loss

It's the opposite situation with Nate Diaz vs Khazmat. They know Nate Diaz is a lost cause for them long term, so they are making a money fight with those two knowing full well that Nate Diaz will be physically assaulted in the cage. It won't matter to them anymore how much his stock drops due to him being gone anyway

Not a fan of omalley, looking forward to his imminent destruction

I don't like Sean at all, very annoying kid.. but I admit if its a 3 round fight I would have some concerns, because Yan doesn't really fight until 8 minutes, I have noticed this since he first came to UFC, he is so hesitant and tentative for the first 8 minutes, then after that he starts actually throwing much more and doing something, but its a big flaw in him, he needs to let go from the start.

In 5 rounds I would have no concerns, Yan has much more skill and talent and fought way better guys, and has more experience. My only criticism of him is that he barely throws much for the first 7-8 minutes in every fight, too much staring and feints but not enough actually throwing anything. I am just warning you guys if its a 3 round fight.

Sean needs to prove himself against much better opponents also. There should be a rematch with Munhoz

imagine O'malley sleeps him, i leggit could see it

{<Mcgoat}

If this fight actually happens my respect for O’Malley immediately increases like 50%.

I can’t stand OMalley but he’s stepping up big here. That’s a huge leap between Munhoz and Yan. Hats off to him.

LMAO.. imagine if OMalley beats Yan and then Aljolame and becomes the first rainbow colored UFC champion

Really intriguing fight.. O'Malley's reach will be a big factor in this fight.

Already see the guys saying Yan crushes O'Malley. Yall crazy, Sean a clown but he still a handful to fight because of his striking.

I favor Yan because he has proven his toughness and will against top opposition meanwhile I have major questions about O'Malley toughness.

Hopefully Yan knocks his hair color back to at least 1 color.

actually kinda smart matchmaking, because there's a huge upside for both fighters as far as the ufc is concerned. if yan wins, he adds a high profile name to his resume, and the hype can push him back to another title shot. if omalley wins (which he almost surely won't) it will answer critics who think hes all hype. if omalley loses, people can write it off because yan is one of the absolute best, and almost everyone else would lose to him to.

the only downside is for yan. if he loses to omalley, that would be really hard to live down.

He beat the shit out of Munhoz. Get a fooking clue. Kicked him above the groin and hurt him. The ref saved him. He also punched him in the left eye and Munhoz was having trouble after that. He quit, period end of story.
