Yan not throwing the right hand

Yan barely threw the right hand today . 90 percent of the time he was jabbing. One of the few noticeable ones was the one he hurt Mehrab with but not much after that.

Anyone else notice that

Did he injure his right hand again or was it some weird tactical decision to surprise Mehrab?

Didn’t wanna over extend ?

He landed it a little. Probably didn't want to overextend with the right and leave himself open to takedowns though.

I get that but it was very sparse. At least when he had him hurt he should have unloaded on him.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Maybe his right hand injury never fully healed or is lingering.

Right hand is riskier. In orthodox youre going across your body with it. If they time an entry and get under it youre on the mat. Its better to ride the lead hand and have the rear hand protecting the winging over hands coming back and peeling the take down attempts. The right hand opened up the more he felt he had control of the situation
