News WWE Has Officially Acquired AAA

TKO are bad for MMA, bad for wrestling and will be bad for boxing if they manage to make a dent in it.

Just hope none of the likes of NOAH, Rev Pro, PROGRESS, All Japan, etc. Sell out.

The writing is on the wall for TNA.

The NXT Mexico report was debunked.

Which also makes no sense since they acquired a brand that almost a 40 year legacy……this isn’t some indie fed were talking about.

I don't see the point of changing it to NXT.

I think as AAA it will be more marketable to mexicans and mexicanamericans if they decide to tour the USA .

While I do agree that the AAA product has been pretty bad in the past decade, this is not going to be good for Mexican wrestling at all. I doubt any other Mexican promotion like The Crash or IWRG will step up to that spot after AAA gets snuffed out. I would have felt a little better about CMLL buying AAA, if anything. When I watch Mexican wrestling, that's what I want. Not a WWE product.

AAA is the only one that really toured the country and send their weekly tv taping to those places just like WWF did. The rest of the promotions are territory based, while wrestlers can get hired to wrestle all over the country is not really the same, just by that not even CMLL could fill that spot.

"Paul Levesque stating that he wanted to take AAA back to being a traditional Lucha Libre promotion, to which Meltzer responded by saying that AAA has never done traditional Lucha Libre outside of its first few years of existing. WWE reportedly won't take over officially until the third quarter of the year, so while it will be business as usual for AAA for now, WWE's people will study the situation and decide on what to do later in 2025. Having said that, Meltzer noted that multiple publications in the know in Mexico believe that AAA will now encourage their wrestlers to learn English, and
and wrestle a more WWE-centric style so they can transition to WWE programming much easier. Meltzer went on to shut down the idea that the deal was hastily put together, further explaining that the deal has been talked about for many years, with WWE personnel being at AAA's last show at Juan de la Barrera Gym. Everything was kept very close to the chest, despite many people knowing that AAA had wanted to sell essentially since Pena's death in 2006, but WWE's purchase of the entire company didn't gain any real traction until Fillip, a Mexican sports and entertainment company, entered the picture."

TNA not in trouble they are perfect where they are. Accepting WWE as the leader and taking scaps and WWE get to use them to help prove not a monopoly.

WWE was at one point in talks for NOAH but all that mob stuff happened and they just bought NOAH USA. Also tried to buy Rev Pro just to clear the board in the UK. Rev Pro shot them down and survived covid which NXT UK did not.

what the fuck is NOAH USA?

The Yakuza shit with NOAH came to light in 2012 and all that happened from that was NOAH got dropped from their TV deal in Japan. WWE was in no way shape or form in talks to buy NOAH in 2012. WWE tried to buy NOAH in 2019 to be the base of NXT Japan and the owners of NOAH turned them down and sold to Cyber Agent instead. WWE not buying NOAH had zero to do with the Yazuka story from several years earlier. WWE even currently has a working relationship with NOAH and they share talent lol

Dragon Gate USA?

In 2020, Dragon Gate USA's along with Evolve's assets were bought by WWE. Think you are confused.

- Could be god to see some wasted talents performing o AAA and vice versa.
