Ok so just based off what my grandparents gave me at 18 for my birthday I could have bought 2 glocks. Thats not including Christmas money or Easter or valentines etc gift money.
I didn't get money and shit for birthdays or Xmas till I was like 17 and then it was only like $50 from my parents and like $30 form a cousin and that was it.

Getting money for Easter and V-day? WTF?

Good grief. I don't think most people get that much money as a kid.
Yeah, I didn't.

Yeah, I didn't.

My parents got me luggage for my 18th birthday. Shit, they threw a party for themselves because they were done raising kids lol.

I thought all that people got for Easter was really shitty and brightly colored candy

When I turned 18 my dad took me shooting.

When I graduated COLLEGE I got the GMT Master II (the red/blue dial Rolex) my dad wore in Vietnam as a graduation gift. I left it at their house when I moved to Utah but I will cherish that thing forever.

My 21st though my folks let me pick a pistol out of the case for myself after I got my concealed license.

All my birthday money prior to 17 my parents took and put it in a college savings fund for me.

A SINGLE GLOCK 19 IS LIKE $500 STILL. And that's for a Generation 3 one and they're on the 5th Generation now.

The Glock 34 I've been eyeing to get to send to Taran Tactical is still $534. The Generation 3 was first introduced in 1998 for crying out loud. IT'S OVER 20 YEARS OLD AND IS STILL $500!!!!

Plus he was 18, federal law says you have to be 21 to get a pistol so there's THAT question too.

I do enjoy pew pews. I did my firearms courses for restricted and unrestricted firearms in Canada and had the papers all filled out, and just didn't send them in. Originally I wanted to hunt, but then I thought that was just way too much trouble and I didn't really want that lifestyle.

Still, they are a lot of fun.

You didn't get gifts or cash for holidays?

More than a little weird to get money for Valentine's day.

Christmas yes, Japanese grand parents would send me something small for New Years but outside of those and my birthdays fuck no I didn't get anything. I got food.

I didn't know people did shit for Easter until I was like 12.

I can't be the only one that got gifts as a little kid, and then cash as I got older.

Just birthday and christmas. I got a piano for graduation, back when I thought I was gonna make a living out of it. It was digital, but still, a nice digital.

More from Hanson (getting dragged big-time for this, and his responses suggest he doesn't have a handle on the reasons):
