Go back to rizon old man
LMAO I'd have had to be there and leave to have something to go back to. I played with it a bit some time last century and would have forgotten it existed if not for the reference to it just now and that's the extent of it.

But you got the old man part right.

I don't think "told" is the word to use there, just FTR. I advised you to take a break and you might regret later pushing this too far. Just remember that the whole discussion started over an article in the New York Post. That should tell you all you need to know about TS and his intentions. There are worse things a person can do than try to counter that sort of BS even if it is ultimately a failed attempt.

Really hoping he takes Portman's seat

I can't watch or listen to Tim Ryan anymore without laughing thinking of the My Cartoon President version of him

He could be president someday, and I still wouldn't be able to take him seriously.

The Cory Booker parody was perfect too.

Easily best debate parody I ever saw. They tie some of the events into well also to make a joke (Castro’s win exchanging with Beto, Ryan bringing up the audio problem). Sometimes SNL will do that but fail to make it a joke at all.

I was surprised at how funny the writing often was given that I don't think Colbert is all that funny.

Ironically, the least funny and least accurate parody is Trump, despite the actual Trump already being a parody of himself.

Trump is impossible to parody for obvious reasons.

I don’t remember other parts of the show that well. I guess I remember the portrayal of the characters. Pelosi, Schumer, Collins having no backbone, Romney being a Boy Scout, AOC saying honey (I don’t think they had a good angle with her). Can’t think of the cabinet well but they crushed it with the primary stuff.

My favorite on the show is the Mike Pompeo character:

Colbert's own impersonation is pretty good. Really accents what a whiny, weaselly cretin Trump is. But the show's Trump is like a self-aware asshole, rather than a cripplingly insecure and self-unaware asshole.

By any chance you catch any of the John Danaher podcast with that guy Lex Friedman?

some really interesting stuff. Not all about BJJ. Obviously that’s what I was most interested in.

Danaher said one of the most important things for beginners is to develop your escape game before anything else. Learning escapes from bad positions is how BJJ should be taught. He claimed that bjj players would be more willing to go for subs and take chances if getting out of bad positions was like muscle memory. Something you’ve been doing since day one.

for instance. Instead of just holding the mount you go for an arm. Even if it’s reversed who cares because you can get out of any bad spot because you’ve been practicing it since day 1. Also had a psychological advantage over your opponent.

he claimed a lot of places teach escapes more frequently at higher belt levels but a lot of it should be mastered at the start.

I did not set it but his very first series in his GI set is escapes from mount / SM.

Unfortunately like all things Danaheur on instructionals, it’s painful.

The technique is really great, but it’s repetitive, long winded, always uses 30 words when 3 would suffice, so it’s horrible if you are someone who takes notes and is trying to rehearse each move. He is scientific but not when it comes to the science of learning.

He also does not know how give quick wins to earn trust. What’s the one thing I can learn in 10 minutes to really improve side control? Stephan Whittier has it on his blue belt accelerator course and it was a game changer over anything on the danheur set.

That being said, I agree with him. Learning escapes and defense is a great way to get good at the sport fast.

Still nothing from the dirt sheets regarding RR’s ban? He wasn’t even given a reason.
