I can't think of a major motion picture release that is in the vein of stuff LIKE The Wire or Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul though is the thing.
I won’t even say GOT cause thats based on books, but the story behind the sopranos, big love, 6 feet under, etc, hold up to an insane amount of movies out there

It's just strange because it feels like accusations of sexism against any figure on the right are largely met with at least outward sympathy but the second a woman issues a challenge to a sacred cow like Bernie we have to launch a 1,000 think-pieces about the dangers of our attacks. To me it just signals the issue isn't sexism but rather partisanship, spiking the football against people you don't like because you don't like them not because they are capable of sexism.

I think people will naturally think better of people they like and worse of people they don't like. I just try to avoid that myself and forgive when I can. It happens. During the election season, someone (Trotsky? Not sure) said that it was the most vile character attack they'd ever seen in election, or something to that effect. That's fucking crazy.

Why does something have to be a major motion picture to enter the discussion here?
If you are interested in plot? I don't even have a response to that.
Can you explain why you don't have a response?

Then go to the fart sniffing Mayberry movie thread to talk about movies only 20 people on the planet have seen.. 12 of which were cast/crew.
Movies don't count unless you have seen them? What the fuck lol. It would be hard for you to name an interesting television show that wasn't largely influenced by cinema.

Because things like The Wire, BB, BCS are far more accessible than the stuff that is considered "cinema" in the same way that a major motion picture is far more accessible to your average viewer than "cinema".

Using "cinema" is super broad as it includes Euro release stuff that most Americans will never even know exists while stuff like the three aforementioned shows are known internationally.

It's like discussing music with hipsters talking about their favorite bands and how it's better than say.. Eric Church or like Tool. Like, that's great you think they're better but when it's only you and another 100 people that even know it exists......

No. 'Cause that would be a response
Okay, cool conversation lol.

I don't know what accessibility has to do with my original point though.

To give full context in our big group chats we used to have here I was constantly crying about Trump like every day and it was known how miserable he made me. One of the users made a deal with me that if he wasn't reelected I would send him a foot pic and I said that day I would be so happy I would do it. I didn't mean to imply something nefarious or that I was coercing people into doing my biding I'm sorry.
Coercion wasn't even a thought.
Stop apologizing.

I would have went with to say there’s no plot in a number of tv shows is the stupidest fucking thing I’ve ever heard in my life but, hey you’re nicer than I am

There are like a half dozen conversations going on, and I can't really follow any of them.

I like Elizabeth Warren. [optional] In fact, she’s my second choice! But here’s my concern about her. The people who support her are highly educated, more affluent people who are going to show up and vote Democratic no matter what. She’s bringing no new bases into the Democratic Party. We need to turn out disaffected working-class voters if we’re going to defeat Trump.

womp womp

My go-to would have been:

"Elizabeth Warren is a close personal friend of mine, but she's also a former Federalist Society member who voted for Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush well into her 40s, who supports brutal right-wing foreign policy, and who is a self-identified wonk who somehow just put out an indefensibly bad plan to fund Medicare For All with a head tax that made no sense and would have punished employer generosity."

Really, though, the general consensus on the left is that Sanders wasn't aggressive enough toward Warren or Biden. I tend to agree with that, although Biden is a uniquely difficult target on account of what I said about him earlier. I'm not sure that I have a real firm critique of how his supporters or surrogates behaved. BJG had some slip ups, but she did her best
