@Lead

I want us to listen to this when we are sitting down beside each other conversing about life....

Milton. Yeah he’s been a dick to @Cubo de Sangre for a while now. He made it racial. I know he had a beef with SDW also.

I guess he’s from Hawai’i but I’d also guess that he’s actually Filipino American or something. Just my guess.

Getting upset over "racism against white people" given the ongoing and historical treatment of brown people by white colonialism in America is fucking absurd.

Cry me a river. Hawaii has been ravaged and eroded by European settlers since the early 1800s. White people didn't just magically appear, nor did the state just magically exist for the United States. If native Hawaiians dislike white people on their land, who am I to argue?

Treating all racism as the same is disingenuous and every single person who does so is well aware of that.

Sounds like you agree with @Bald1 on protecting borders from foreigners.

I am not an expert here but IIRC those “nationalist “ liberation movements, especially the ones in the developing world were based on a “freeing” a country from oppression (the imperialism you spoke of) and very little of the ideology was based on ethnic / racial Identity or the idea that people of a feather should flock together. Many of the movements were based on the idea that they would work with other such “national movements” as brothers. I am sure it got mixed up in some places, especially in MENA (no offense) but that’s how I recall it.

Arab nationalism always had a large focus on removing western influence, but it essentially died in the 6 day war.
Or at least was absorbed by Islamism.
Both of which had strong socialist influence, as with the Baath party or the founding Islamist literature like Qutb's Milestones.
Chinese nationalism under communism was originally the opposite. It certainly had the anti-western elements, but their "Zhongua Minzu" was explicitly a multiracial/ethnic nationalism and actually excluded the Chinese diaspora. That's only reversed relatively recently, along with any other actual socialist ideology, in the CCP.
Malay nationalism once again had the post-colonial aspects, but was overwhelmingly right-wing (straight up massacred the Chinese for being "communist agents" in the race riots of '69) in it's ethnic, economic and religious aspects. Even it's pro-Malay affirmative action program, which they dubbed "communal politics".
So I think ethnic nationalism has covered the spectrum, but it's opposition is mostly on the left.
