I understand the kid was pissed about being wrecked, but how fucking dumb to just walk out into the track like that, but it looks like Stewart swerved INTO him. Fuck.

Stewart is both an all-time great race car driver, and an absolutely insufferable cunt of a human being. He absolutely intended to hit that kid, and wouldn't have if he didn't. Insane stuff.

How do you not even get charged for that?

Lol, it looked like he even hit the fucking throttle and veered over to mow his ass down. Tony was overcome by impulsive rage at being called out like that by some local nobody acting like a hotshot and disrespecting him.

On August 9, 2014, Stewart competed in an evening sprint car race in Canandaigua, New York. About halfway through the race, Stewart bumped Kevin Ward Jr., causing Ward to lose control and spin out, into the wall. A full course yellow caution flag was displayed. Instead of waiting for race officials, an indignant Ward exited his vehicle and walked onto the track, gesticulating in defiance as Stewart approached.

As Stewart approached under full course caution he hit Ward, impacting him with his right rear tire. Mortally injured when the right rear tire of Stewart's car struck him, Ward was flung 25 feet across the track to his death. Ward was transported by paramedics to Thompson Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, due to massive blunt trauma.[63][64][65]

On September 24, 2014, a grand jury declined to indict Stewart on charges of manslaughter in the second degree and criminally negligent homicide. Following the decision, District Attorney Michael Tantillo stated that videos of Stewart's driving did not demonstrate any aberrational driving and that Ward was under the influence of cannabis with levels high enough to impair judgment.[73]

A couple days after the announcement of his exoneration by Ontario County (N.Y.) District Attorney Michael Tantillo, Stewart told The Associated Press, that "I know 100 percent in my heart and in my mind that I did not do anything wrong." After a few years of going through the process of the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Ward family, it was announced in April 2018, that the suit had been settled out-of-court, just a few weeks before the trial was scheduled to begin. The terms of the settlement were confidential.[76][77]

I don't know if there was any other footage, but in that particular clip it definitely looks like he swerved toward the kid. I can't see how anyone could see that and say definitively that he didn't intend to hit the kid.

Yes... I have a friend who buys those books for his kid...

I used to have debates with him but now I don’t bother.

Ugh.
Yikes.

You should buy his kids actually good books for their birthdays or whatever.
Often enough.
Haha, yeah makes sense for you I guess.
Haven't seen it, but it doesn't suprise me.
I don't care about Libertarianism so much, but the influence of the Atlas Network, and in particular the Institute of Public Affairs, in introducing shit policy in Australia certainly pisses me off.
Didn't help that the ideology had federal backing from the US for their propaganda, such as the CIA founding and funding Quadrant magazine.
See that's what I am talking about. Libertarians have an outsize influence because, despite their ideas being unpopular among actual people, they have massive funding which allows them to create this think tank ecosystem that exerts disproportionate influence on public policy despite the lack of votes.
For all the whinging about indoctrinating children, there are countless right-wing books aimed at children.

Like Mike Huckabee's shit books:

There's even one teaching kids the horrors of socialism. Can you imagine if Democrats made a pro-socialism children's book?
Its really gross. I am not against conservative art directed at kids necessarily, though really young kids should be shielded from politicized stuff like that in general, but so often is this grotesque, on-the-nose propaganda in service of horrible public policy.

Maybe I could take a crack it since the bar is so low.
You have the Salties down there too: the most aggressive, most dangerous, most deadliest, most territorial, most likely to attack humans... the biggest, the baddest, the strongest bone crunching bite force because of course Australia fucking has that.

The Saltwater Crocodile is the largest living reptile known to science. Males grow to a length of up to 6.3 m (21 ft) and weight of 1,300 kg (2,900 lb). The saltwater crocodile is a large and opportunistic hypercarnivorous apex predator. It ambushes most of its prey and then drowns or swallows it whole. It is capable of prevailing over almost any animal that enters its territory, including other apex predators such as sharks.

Saltwater Crocodiles have the strongest bite of any living animal. A 4.59-metre-long (15 ft 1 in) saltwater crocodile has been confirmed as having the highest bite force ever recorded for an animal in a laboratory setting, with a value of 16,414 newtons (3,690 pounds-force) surpassing the previous record of 13,172 N or 2,961 lbf made by an American alligator.

Saltwater Crocodiles use ocean currents to travel long distances. In Australia, 20 crocodiles were tagged with satellite transmitters; 8 of them ventured out into open ocean, and one of them travelled 590 km (370 mi) along the coast in 25 days. They are agile predators that can display incredible agility and speed when necessary, usually during strikes at prey. They can also swim at 24 to 29 km/h in short bursts, around three times as fast as the fastest human swimmers.

Used to be really into zoology as a kid, especially herpetology. Snakes and crocodilians were my favorites so I'm probably more well read on them than the average person.

Look at those sincere emotions.

What's funny is that baby hippos that are teething use crocodiles as chew toys. The crocs generally take it without objection because mama hippos are fucking terrifying.

Also, baby hippos are among the cutest animals in the world.

whenever I see this I always, as first instinct, doubt it's real. nobody can be this retarded and proud about it. but I know it's real.
I thought you’ve been to America before? Being that retarded and proud about it is like the bedrock of American culture
The allure of Miatas for me is just how easy they are to work on and modify, sometimes to a ridiculous degree. And the first Gen for the flip up headlights, because nothing is more kickass than flip up headlights.
I had a Ford Probe with flip up headlights. Was truly badass. Silly little car was actually a tank, passed 200,000 miles with no issues at all.

all my business in america was in the north east - ny, ct, boston, vermont...never really saw any like this. most i got was muh guns muh flag, but that was just normal for america i thought.

My 2007 Mazda 3 has about 165k and is running strong. Only thing I need is to replace the exhaust; and hopefully only the rear portion.
I just bought a 2016 Mazda 3 with 40K miles on it back in January
My girl has the same car as you with similar mileage and its still going strong

Felt like it was a good use of 9K

So you never came down south?

Mazdas are kind of slept on for long-term durability. Honda and Toyota get a lot of credit in that department, but I see just as many older Mazdas on the road.
