Jeb might be the most uninspiring candidate that ever ran with major party backing... and I was a Jeb fan in 2016. Traded him in for Kasich pretty quickly though

Jeb as also been reluctant to condemn Trump for the most part because he thinks it will hurt his son's political career in Texas.

At this point I'm not even sure if Mitt can hold his Senate seat.

The issue friends of mine in this state have with Romney have nothing to do with Trump.

It has to do with it always feels like he rides the wave of "I brought the Olympics here" and there's been no real tangible thing he's done for Utah other than that. Friend that is Mormon:
"Sometimes I think Romney only won cause he's claims to be LDS during campaign time"

Meh. For now, I'd rather hold out hope for someone with an actual wealth of principle. Both Jeb and Mittens are pretty slimy and dishonest. Just not as much as 99% of the current Republican Party.

George Pataki and Jon Huntsman are the only two Republican candidates of the past decade that are remotely decent IMO. And neither got more than a percent of support. After that, Kasich or those two would be okay. After that, it's pretty much zilch in terms of principle: Rubio, Graham, Walker, Hawley, Cruz, Huckabee, and Christie might as well all be Trump as far as I'm concerned.

The NE/MA governors are pretty solid. Baker, Hogan and Scot

Mitt will hold his Senate seat imo. But I guess he could get primaried by a fellow magical underpants person.

Of the three, I'm only familiar with Charlie Baker.

I'm also not all that optimistic that they aren't secretly slime and won't revert to that under national Republican voters' pressures....like Mitt did. I mean, what can a moderate Republican candidate really run on? Now that Democrats are officially the more fiscally responsible party, what is there other than right-wing social politics?

I'm not sure what he was supposed to do for Utah so can't really argue. He's bona fide LDS (The Charitable Contributions on his tax returns prove that) which is why he went there for that Senate seat.

And I've said multiple times that Mormons/Utah is more resistant to Trump than other key GOP demographics but that just kind of proves my point. If he's barely getting by in Utah I don't see him getting support in other GOP hotbeds where Trump is more popular. Maybe Ohio..

What I thought of when hundreds of Trump supporters breached the Capitol gates....and then had no plan on what to do so they just wandered around getting souvenirs and taking pictures of each other like tourists.

That sounds awesome. I have family in Oside still and lived walking distance from the beach in Carlsbad for a while.
Is Colimas still there? That was my spot for Mexican food in Oside.
And yeah nothing beats North County. Really any little city there is gold.

Rad, Carlsbad is a ridiculously nice city. Their secret to keeping it that way is sending all of their homeless people over to us.

Colima's is still here, I honestly can't remember ever eating there though. I generally avoid the downtown area altogether, unless I'm going to surf at Tyson St or Ash St. I used to hang out a bit around the Pierview Pub back in the day though. It's all too busy now and the gentrification is ruining the area. All the high rises and condos by the pier have killed the character and charm downtown used to have. Even the goddamn Top Gun house is gone now.
