I was watching an NHL 94 tournament in Saskatoon last night, it was -48 C with the wind chill.

I went ice fishing in quebec with my uncle when I was younger. Base temp was -45. Somewhere near minus 60 wind chill. It was so cold you could literally see the water freezing in the hole.

@BFoe

Do you have any guesses on the IEEPA case? I feel like that one should really be a slam dunk (which these days may be a 7-2) but it feels ways more up in the air for ACB, Kavanaugh and Roberts.

I honestly don’t have a clue what SCOTUS will do. Like it seems very very clear that these tariffs are illegal, but there have been so many issues that seem clear cut and SCOTUS seems to feel differently. Like, the question “If Congress creates a department or agency by law, can POTUS eliminate the whole thing with a simple EO” seems like an obvious “No.” I mean that’s like an elementary school level civics question to me—yet SCOTUS somehow saw it differently. I dunno.

If they do rule these tariffs illegal, how the hell does the average citizen get their money back? That’s what I’m curious about. Businesses have records showing what they’ve paid, but what about us?

@Yoricks Wisdom what do you think of the recent shooting in Minnesota?

To me it seems like these federal officers are way out of their element, they’re not road units and they’re fucking up as a result.
I think I already expounded at great length in the thread specific to that incident, but I will say that I am curious at the thought process the guy used where in it seemed like a good idea to take a loaded concealed handgun to a demonstration monitored by paranoid, overworked, trigger-happy federal agents.

Was it a self-righteous attitude of “hey I’m a legal gun owner. I have a right to do this” or as suggested by the extra magazine, was he anticipating getting in a fire fight with these guys?
Whatever it was, it was a bad idea with tragic results.

What case was the agency one? I know Humphreys looks all but dead at this point but that’s not the whole agency itself.

Yea, it would be a mess but I hate the idea of it being an argument to not overturn it. Like they had a chance to pause it and now later due to not pausing, they can’t rule that direction cause of the impact. Nah. I think if they let him control revenue this way, it’s completely fucked how powers work. I don’t see a good way to defend it. Even this “it’s FP, executive needs more deference in those situations” is bs to me

It sounds like you're hedging a bit. Legal carry holders take their guns everywhere it's legal and an extra clip or two is probably standard practice for the majority of them.

@Gutter Chris your opinion if you don't mind?

I’m a legal gun owner. I never take an extra magazine unless I’m going on an extended road trip. And how am I hedging exactly?
Do I need to be frothing at the mouth in hysteria for one viewpoint or the other to satisfy you?
The whole second amendment argument is crybaby bullshit. and besides if he wanted to exercise his gun rights, Minnesota has an open carry law he should’ve just worn it on his hip proudly.
Most semis at the very least have eight in the magazine and one in the chamber that’s nine rounds certainly enough for self protection.
My honest opinion is that he took the gun with the extra magazine because he was anticipating and hoping for an armed confrontation. Well, he got one.

ACKshully, Keltec makes a pistol chambered in 5.7 now that uses clips.
I have 5.7 Fn handgun and it, like all semi autos, uses magazines. A clip is used to load rounds into the magazine. See how that works.?

Mine holds 30 rounds. It’s highly illegal in California. Just my AR15 fitted suppressor is.

And Keltec is known for making whats called niche weapons, or range toys that suffer reliability issues and they’re not considered duty weapons.
Although the CP33 looks pretty interesting.

Well there's another well know semi auto that's been around for over 80 years and not made by Keltec that also uses clips...
