Idk what you do for a living, but I haven't gotten the impression you've been switching careers much over the past few years.

Two employers in the last 22 years and in the same "profession" for the last 17 (or so).

I have, and I am legitimately surprised at how useless LinkedIn is compared to more barebones job board sites like Indeed. I have gotten multiple jobs off Indeed, while my only job interview I've gotten off of LinkedIn to my recollection was a borderline scam "outside sales" job I got offered immediately after graduating college.

A good 25% of my contacts on the site are recruiters (aka headhunters). Due to factors they've nothing to offer me in terms of advancing my career. When I say I've no interest in driving further for less money they come up empty.

Two years ago I took an interview, right in the height of the NBA free agency recruiting season. Taking a page out of Kawai's book, I went in asking what they could do for me, and how bad do they want it. Unlike KL, things didn't really progress from there. But joke's on them, it would have been a sizable paycut and the atmosphere seemed shitty. The one allure was they have a shooting range and that would have save me a ton of driving and allowed for more frequent opportunity to hone the skills.

So yeah, Linkedin was never my friend.

Who are the non-shitbag Heavies posters that you'd personally vouch for? I can't imagine even a small percentage of them migrating to dual posting in the War Room. Any time there's a socio-political thread started in there that gets moved (or not), it's easy to see why it would be a disaster and complete overkill. A lot of them make awful WR regulars look like amazing people by comparison.

There was a fun, not-too-serious poll competition on what user would get a pillow. @bigwaverider made a post in some thread asking his buds to vote for him, which resulted in him winning the poll. Then @HockeyBjj got super up in arms about how that was cheating and made a big stink, causing there to be a second run-off poll between BWR and HockeyBJJ.

Anyone is free to correct me if I got that wrong.

No, @HockeyBjj made a pillow and hit Rashad in the face with it which left an imprint. @bigwaverider stole it and Hockey filed a complaint.

The Last time the heavies came to the War Room en masse, they brought with them the phrase "your mother is a retard" which they threw about with gay abandon. Increasing the marketing appeal of the war room to the lowly denizens of the other subforums is not the key to victory for @HockeyBjjs next poll battle. Instead we should prepare a legion of sockpuppets, similar to how the democrats beat Trump.

I second this. Indeed is better for job search, although I got my current job through “connections”, Indeed gives a greater volume of quality opportunities. I got three internships during uni alone and plenty more after that on Indeed. LinkedIn is better for self promotion though, a way to advertise yourself to employers.
