Are Warhammer and Warhammer the storylines/timelines related at all or did someone just take the Warhammer motif and throw it in space for 40k?

The gameplay mechanics are similar in tabletop, and there are some aspects of the lore, even even some characters that exist in both universes.

For instance, the chaos gods exist in both universe and a fair number of the more senior demon champions as well.

40K is basically an exponential version of Warhammer fantasy. Everything is cranked up to 11. The fantasy earth is literally Holy Terra in 40k.

Yeah, I was talking more from the lore end of things.

All I know from 40k is RussianBadger reviewing the video games.



I know they yell "for the Emperor" a lot. Space Marines have like 2-3 hearts and like 5 lungs or some crazy shit like that. Oh yeah, and the Imperium of Man is super racist lol and the Emperor is basically dead and a decaying body sitting on his throne.

Err, Fantasy Earth is not actually Holy Terra, though there are still crossover characters. The End Times lore in Fantasy gets a bit wacky with portals and time travel and shit.

It's theorized that Fantasy Earth may exist in the 40K universe somewhere as a primitive planet, maybe in the eye of terror under the control of a chaos god for their own pleasure.
