Saku had a tried and proven way of beating BJJ players from that era
TD posture up land strikes, back out and kick the ever living shit out of there legs, jumping stomp attack, rinse and repeat

and if that didnt work, just pull their pants off.

Rickson would have won. It took Sakuraba 1.5 hours to wear down Royce Gracie enough to stop the fight with kicks and Royce had only fought once in the last 5 years at that point (against Takada). Rickson was much stronger than Royce, has harder strikes and is much more athletic, with at least as much technique. If it was normal time limits Royce actually would have won that fight.

Royce himself said Rickson destroys him when they used to train together. The one advantage Sakuraba had was he is 10 years younger.
ACTUALLY

I think what you meant to say is that Sakuraba turned around the dumbass unlimited time limit the Gracies wanted in order to give themselves the advantage, however they were not prepared for the ultimate endurance of Sakuraba and they gave up like little bitches.

Cuz that's what Gracies do, give up.

I do remember Royce getting all the rules and stipulations he wanted against Sakuraba but Saku still beat him lol, Royce looked like he was going to get heat stroke, had to throw in the towel, Saku's pressure burned Royce right out.

I also believe in the rematch Royce wasn't wearing a gi lol.

Rickson is like one of those bareknuckle boxers who fights relatives, drunks, and an assortment of strangers who also thinks (along with his family) that he can jump into a boxing ring and compete at a high level.... based off of tales and fights with relatives, drunks, and an assortment of strangers.

When he did fight a 'pro' they were a menagerie of no-ones and never-beens.

It's funny though... whenever a Gracie was fighting in some venue the 'official gracie family statement' was about how "Gracie X" is the legitimate toughest one of the family. Every time a new gracie was trotted out the announcers reading the gracie-script commented on how this one is the most feared in the family.

It's too close to call. People are way too confident in Saku though i'll say that.
