Worst UFC cut of all time?

Leonard Garcia... Dude always put on a good show, was in 2 of the greatest brawls of all time vs Huerta and Zombie... Got cut because of online bitching, instantly retired... He should have been allowed to go out on the Mexico card... It was blatant disrespect to treat him that way.

Cody McKenzie is another victim of online bitching... That and some terrible matchmaking... An entertaining, unique, and popular fighter... Surely it's better to have guys like him in the ranks, even if they have a few holes in their game?

There are usually other reasons in situations like this.

One thing is for sure though - if you aren't very exciting but you win fights you will get cut after one loss.

I believe Souza was not cut, it was the last fight on his contract and didnt sign a new one and has retired from MMA.

Jon Madsen was pretty bad. Dude was 4-1 in the UFC. And his only loss was a Doctor stoppage because his eye was closed shut (he was losing the fight though).

His sin was he was boring.

Lost to Arlovski who was a few fights removed from defending the HW championship, beat Vera and then Gonzaga who just came out of a title fight, and then lost to Junior Dos Santos who would become the HW champion.

And he goes on to beat Fedor and eventually becomes the current UFC champion.

When he was let go we all know it wasn't based on his resume and that personal conflicts/politics/contract $$ were at play.

I could go on on a lot of other guys who were doing great (I.e. Kevin Souza, rosholt, etc) but the 3 above were top ranked fighters and should have never been cut.

Sass especially... Especially given the circumstances - he was completely stuck against the cage... It was a great fight too... Etim was harsh too but he was broken. Injuries with long layoffs and THAT ko and he was never the same.

He wasn't officially cut though.

He was supposed to get a title shot and had just signed a new contract. Instead of giving Werdum his promised title shot they gave it to Brock who was 1-1 in the UFC and only had 3 career MMA fights.

They put Werdum against JDS instead and the rest is history. They tried to keep him but slash his pay from the brand new contract that he signed. He ended up signing to Strikeforce for more money.

wtf... thats disgusting. he was a helluva fighter tho. I had hopes he could show traditional martial arts still work in the octagon, like Machida. now its up to Wonderboy.
