I'd have to say Werdum is up there for me. Obviously an amazing grappler but I never thought he'd be champ.
Also maybe even Barao.. I dunno Menne is a good one. In hindsight Hendricks.

GDR says what you talking 'bout Willis? She fought for a title in a weight class designed for Cyborg, against Holm, another faux 145er, cheated in the fight, then explicitly changed weight classes to avoid fighting Cyborg and never did. Conor would be only be in contention if he flat out avoided Khabib. As for his time at 145 starching cold the FW Goat beats landing your best shots after the bell against a past it Holly.

I can't believe I didn't think of Woodley. His title defenses have to be the most anti-climatic things ever, and he didn't just lose got beatdown by fighters he couldn't dance away from. His fights again Usman, Burns and Colby were all pretty one sided.
He is easily the worst champ who has successfully defended. Crazy to think he successfully defended 4 times.

4-3-1 is far from impressive, but far from the worst considering who he was matched up against in his short run.
