Worst coaches ever.

Not the worst coach but an example of bad coaching.

James Krause

Anthony smith vs glover Texiera.

This fight was peak covid. In the apex no sound and you could hear the coach’s clearly.

Round one Anthony threw the kitchen sink at him and won pretty cleanly.

The issue I had is Krause never stopped talking kept asking for more and more and Anthony kept throwing what ever he was told. But the work rate was too high and not necessary.

He gassed as a result and got beaten badly because of it.

Also jame shouldn’t have send him out for that final round.

He ended up losing teeth.

Not a bad coach but an example when a coach asks for too much and doesn’t let his fighter work

In context, we can run a highlight reel of Anthony Smith crumbling.

He got murdered by Josh Neer FFS, think of the size difference.

For all we know James was doing the right thing because Anthony is a front runner and needs to be on the gas to get the job done.

Also consider how many times we've seen old man Glover take a beating and then take over with his grappling (see: Smith, Ion Cutelaba, Santos)

IMO on balance we've seen James Krause do plenty of fine coaching, its hard to say from this instance.

Any of Conor’s coaches, besides that movement coach he had

Going out on a limb here, hope I don’t offend some of the other older posters but…

Henri Hooft.

I used to love him as a fighter but it seems that any fighter that has gone to train under him in the last 10 years has regressed, or mistakenly fallen in love with striking. The names I can remember are fighters like Luque, Michael Johnson, Burns. I’m sure there are others.

Fabia is levels upon levels upon levels worse than anyone else.. ever

I don’t think I agree with Pat Barry being bad. I get why people say that, but he turned Rose into a nasty little striker tbh.
Didn’t he sexually abuse her and cause her to be a total mental case? Or was that just Sherdog rumors?

I’m not aware of that, but maybe someone else can chime in. The biggest accusation I heard was that he was attracted to Rose when she was underage, although they didn’t get together until she was of age AFAIK. But like I said, I get the objections and where people’s views on that come from. I’m just saying that I don’t think he was attracted to bad from a pure coaching standpoint. Like, Rose’s striking has clearly improved over her career.

what about all those corner no name MMA gyms that will never produce a fighter good enough to even sniff anywhere near a promotion with a broadcast distribution deal or even streaming? Yall are naming off coaches that have gotten fighters on TV, surely there is a whole nother level of worse than this

...except fabia. He is as bad as it gets. Does he even count tho considering he's not a real coach? He is a soft core gay porn producer masquerading as a coach

Just curious; why?

He gets a lot of credit because of GSP, but really the man who oversaw and developed GSPs career was himself, he sought things out and found Danaher before people knew about him, Phil Nurse, Freddie Roach, wrestling teams, Jackson's etc. I find guys like Arnold Allen and Rory who both started in their early teens or childhood and didnt lack intellect or athletic gifts but became more timid and less equipped to do well as they trained with Firas more and more. I think he limits guys and encourages timidity and avoidance. I haven't liked the careers he's built or the lack of success he's had despite being one of if not Canada's prominent gym in MMA for over a decade.

Lloyd Irvin participated in a gang rape. He's the worst. Maybe a decent coach but the worst human being you could train under. Some of his students don't fall far from the tree. The fact the UFC still features him in promo's for some of his fighters is insane as fuck.
