Worst brain damage in an active ufc fighter

Rory took more damage in the 2nd Robbie fight than his whole career before that.

He really doesn't get hit a lot, other than in that fight.
Hopefully Rory has a wise enough team to tell him when there is danger. GSP has been able to be the same person but there is evidence that a return to the UFC and especially Lawler is bad for his mental health.

I'm not too sure about that. He has experienced lost time and has a lot of headaches. That doesn't sound like someone that came out totally unscathed. Just because he isn't freddie roach status doesn't mean he's the same.

So who do you think shows the worst signs atm?

Lawler speaks from only one side of his mouth...
Are you dumb? A lot of people talk like that, especially people from certain locations. That hot girl from Game of Thrones (Natalie Dormer) speaks with one side of her mouth. She doesn't look brain damaged in the slightest.

Prior to the Miller fight, Diego legitimately lost seven fights in a row-- to Kampmann (literally one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in my life), Ellenberger, Gomi (robbery), Melendez, Myles Jury, Ross Pearson (also literally one of the worst decisions I've ever seen), and Lamas. He realistically is 2-8 in the past six years, and definitely would have been cut already if he wasn't from TUF1.

Jesus, I've watched all those fights and being pissed at most of them. But it's not until reading your post is it really put into perspective, my god that's the craziest streak of any kind.

Sadly it's probably what's going to leave him brain dead. They keep giving him these gift decisions against guys bashing his head in and he stays in the game thinking he still has "it" when all he's really doing it destroying himself.

If the ufc had any sense they let him go for his own sake.

Surprised im the only one to mention shogun. That dude has taken some serious damage over the years and all his fights are stand up slugfests like wandy

That's because it's Shogun and people on Sherdog still think that he could turn things round if he only put down the fork and made 185, dammit.

I think Struve is up there as well if he continues his career like he has in the past

he's only 28 but already suffered a lot of brutal knockouts and even in some fights that he won he took a lot of damage

The two guys that come to mind have already been mentioned: Gray Maynard & Diego Sanchez. I'm sure others will come to mind as I ponder this, but these two are profoundly affected IMO.

Easily Mark Hunt. The Miocic fight was disturbing.

Diego Sanchez for sure. And 2 wins on his last 5 fights, which includes a complete robbery decision againt Pearson, does not qualify as a winning streak

Former UFC fighter Fabio Maldonado due to Glover Teixiera

I don't think many active fighters show bad signs, but former fighters like Gary Goodridge are fucked up unfortunately.

Fabio was a boxer before MMA. dude talked like that for a long time.

I don't think many of them have it...they're considerably better than a lot of people in other sports.

I was going to say him but if you talk about Shogun here his fans get all mad and start attacking you based on your join date.

Krzysztof Soszynski retired because of his brain damage. Here's an interesting interview where he goes into detail about the brain damage he sustained fighting in the UFC:
