I didn't read all of this because I'm getting ready to leave work for the day, but re: "That officer doesn’t know if there are any officers behind him that are possibly in the path of her vehicle," he absolutely knew for a fact there were no other officers behind him because he circled counter clockwise around the vehicle from the right side (opposite to where the rest were positioned,) to the front. In so doing, he could clearly see there was no one behind him at the moment he drew his weapon.

I watched this one time from each angle, so I didn’t look to see if he was aware of his surroundings or not. But the weird thing is that people can move sometimes-not often, as is evidenced by our extremely obese nation-but some can. And even if he had that information somewhere in his noggin, things have a funny way of slipping and sliding right out of there when someone guns the gas of a 4,500 lb vehicle in your direction.

As I stated, and maybe you didn’t read that part, but I can’t quite make up my mind on this one. So I think he could have/should have moved out of the way? Yeah, I kind of do. But then there’s that part of me that wants to know why should an agent/officer have to make that split-second decision because some dumbass decides that the best course of action is to accelerate to get away from armed men that you absolutely know are federal agents, so it depends on what moment you ask me-but mostly, her dumbass put itchy-trigger finger agents that work for the most corrupt US president in US history into a position where they had to calculate trajectory and angles to determine if they were going to get run over or not.

It has to be right? I don't understand it any other way. Vance and Trump and his Administration aren't complete morons, they are doing this for a reason. Hard to say what this Portland incident was. Apparently it wasn’t ICE, it was Customs and Border Patrol. Could be some wingnut targeted them because of what happened in MN and they retaliated, could be something related the northern border maybe? Could be some other shit. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Yea that's kind of where most people are at. She freaked out didn't act rational, but the ICE agents sure as hell aren't innocent for how they handled the whole thing from point of contact to the finish. That's why people jump on the defund nonsense. Most people can look at an event like this and see piss poor execution of action by law enforcement and say "maybe we need to rethink how we allow law enforcement to act". I think it would have been possible to resolve this without trying to rip her door open and yelling as soon as they got out of the vehicle.

The issue is that she hits the gas while the vehicle is pointing at the agent....infact the tire is pointing to slightly left of the officer when she hits the gas. He initially goes for his gun at that very moment when the vehicle is in fact pointed at him(even the tires) and her tires are spinning because there is ice on the road(ironically). That office is also standing on ice meaning he has little grip as well and he's probably around 2 feet from the hood. His defense is simply going to be she launched the vehicle at him at an incredibly close distance and he reacted with deadly force because he believed that he was in danger. There will most likely be more video on this that will either further his defense or do the opposite and hurt his case but her launching the vehicle that aggressively and close while pointed at him initially is going to be the bulk his objective reasonable test defense.

The fact he responded with pulling his gun rather than simply stepping away from the car completely undermines the self defense excuse. No reasonable person would believe a bullet would instantly stop a car at that range, and the instinct for anyone from a human to a dog, would be to simply evade the car. Instead he chose to remain standing in front of the car and put himself in danger.
