Uh oh

someone has some xplaining to do. No wonder Naomi looked pretty pissed

He never finished reading.

Exceptions to the Prohibition
An officer may only discharge a firearm at the operator of a moving vehicle if the use of deadly force is otherwise justified under the policy's standard for an imminent threat. This exception applies when:
  • A person inside the vehicle is threatening deadly force by means other than the vehicle (e.g., a firearm).
  • The vehicle itself is being used as a weapon, creating an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to the officer or others, and no other reasonable means of defense is available.

Wrong.

offical DHS policy

You see, training policies for certain agency's matter, a lot. The FBI is going to investigate this, and find an absolute shit show.

Completely legitimate to shoot a driver if you feel your life is at risk.. whether or not thats the situation here. No opinion. But its definetly a legal option.

  • DHS policy "generally" prohibits federal agents from discharging firearms for the purpose of disabling a moving vehicle.
  • The policy includes an exception for when someone is "threatening deadly force" with a moving vehicle.
  • Federal officials say the ICE agent involved in Wednesday's shooting followed his training after being attacked. Witnesses argue the woman was shot while trying to turn around.

D.

Additional Considerations
1. DHS LEOs are permitted to use force that is reasonable in light of the
totality of the circumstances. This standard does not require LEOs to meet force
with equal or lesser force.
2. DHS LEOs do not have a duty to retreat to avoid the reasonable use of
force, nor are they required to wait for an attack before using reasonable force to
stop a threat.

I Dont know where some of the claims being made are coming from honestly. Its a simple read

It evidently came from her wife. You can watch the vid on X for yourself.

Its why they didnt know any people in the area.
So it's the answer no, you didn't try to verify if it's true? Why don't you link this video you saw?

Because he never got run over despite the car driving forward? Because I can see him jump to the side before he fired?

No you literally can't. If the bullet went through the front windshield then he was still in front of the vehicle.

No other reasonable means of defense, like moving out of the way ?

I just said what yhe other poster was likely referring to.
That’s the problem when you don’t have any critical thinking skills you just become a repeater with those on here that always get it wrong, I even saw someone had to explain to you how arms work and how a bullet hole can still hit the front from the side ? 😂

There's also a ying to that yang, though. An erratic person behind the wheel is a danger to public safety. Let's say they just let all these maniacs go until they can be in the exact right position to arrest them. They might kill other people, and then people would be going "Well, why did they let that maniac drive around when they had them?"

They can't win with this shit.

The thing is, if you're going to be an officer, you're going to be involved in probably hundreds of these scenarios over the length of your career. In the long haul I just don't see it as a good idea to try to body block cars. You might be able to pull out your gun and shoot the driver in some cases, but eventually one is going to run you over.

There are so many junkies and mentally ill people out there nowadays that are going to freak out and hit the gas pedal when they have a (often irrational) flee response. At the end of the day it's a job that you're going to want to keep working for decades and putting yourself in those kinds of situations is just not sustainable long term for these officers. Better off positioning yourself at the side of a car, never up front.

I know someone personally who shattered his pelvis cause he got hit by a person trying to elude police. His life is ruined. As I said earlier, I have no sympathy for anything that happens to idiots who try to do that.

Like you are aware you can shoot a windshield without being directly infront of a car right? Like if you are to the front of the driver's side bumper and the vehicle is turning the other direction a bullet would pass through the windshield?

because they can. if i have not committed a crime, officers can't do a fucking thing to me no matter how bad their jimmies are rustled. welcome to the constitution, retard. i'd love for you to tell me what crime she was committing

1- You cant simply leave an officer that is detaining you because you dont want to be detained.

2- even if you could, getting killed is an awesome way to prove your point - retard. We have courts and law suits to straighten shit out later
