Yeah, it's almost impossible to compare Swoopes to Clark. Just too many things were different.
1. Brand new league with a shallow American-only talent pool -vs- mature league with a global talent pool
2. Swoopes barely played as a 26 year old rookie, whereas Clark is going to get MVP votes as a 22 year old rookie
3. Swoopes spent the early part of her career playing next to two Hall of Famers, including the best player in the league. She wasn't even the #1 option on her own team until her fourth year in the league when she was just shy of 30 years old.
Clark is going to own several WNBA career records before she is the same age Swoopes was as a rookie. Ironic, given that one of Swoopes disses on Clark was that she was a '25 year old playing against 18 year olds in college'.
