was expecting a pushover for vero, but francisca vera just wouldn't go away. the second round had me bolt upright and shouting at the screen, as vero was saved by the bell. well earned bonuses for both (350,000 baht or $10k usd)

Really fun fight. The fight earlier on the card with Junior Fairtex & Emily Chong was good too despite Chong dislocating her shoulder in the first round.


I think if it wasn't mostly hosted by ONE, I'd be trying to argue that this is the best weight range/division in women's combat sports. I want ONE to sign all the good fighters here, but at the same time I wouldn't suggest any fighters sign with ONE lol.
 
Another nice win for Cavalcanti, retired Avila and GDR for this fight. She's the only young upcoming bw worth watching hopefully the UFC gives her bigger opportunities I'd say give her Aldana next.
Gun to my he'd had Souza winning a close one, but if anyone deserves to win a close split it's Hill. She's still good at 40 but there's no upside to the doing anything but trying to feed her to youngsters.

Hill should be used for fun fights. Yeah, some of the younger fighters will get past her, but she’s too crafty for many of them. Ricci got a gift against Angie.

Those are top contenders she's got no business fighting anymore. She got the win Saturday but it's noticable she's slowing down like a sw old arlovski great first round then her level drops off.

Andrade has more losses than wins recently. Her most recent win is over Marina Rodriguez, who is being slowly driven out as well. Lemos is 37 y/o, has lost two of her last three, and like Rodriguez, is being used to fuel the careers of younger fighters. Neither are seeing a title shot again to be called top contenders

That's what top contenders do fight younger people on the rise and if Lemons rolls off a win over lucindo and a couple others she's definitely in the mix still. Same for Andrade especially since Andrade has a name.
You may have stumbled on the fun fight in rodriguez since she's old and washed and losing her way out.

Also a top contender doesn't mean they're fighting for the title anytime soon. Robert Whittaker isn't going to get any title shots and you wouldn't say he's not a top contender. Max after his 3rd volk loss was still consider a top contender without any hope of a title shot for years. Wonderboy has been a top contender since he lost to Woodley with no chance of a title shot although he might finally be getting old too. People who can headline FN still or be on a PPV card.

Well that's what I said she should just keep doing if they get her two more overrated youngsters she could retire with a winning UFC record. Even though she's Canadian out wrestling Loopy was fun as hell to see.
It wouldn't make sense but I'd like to see Loma rematch her she was only 4-1 then a baby in MMA, I've really noticed her improvements grappling and overall since. And while Hill skills seems as good if not better she's getting slower.
