Had no idea PVZ was doing Powerslap. Whatever you want to say about her she loves to fight. She is super rich and never has to fight again but she still does stuff like this for the love of the game. Nothing but respect from me.

I was looking at Paige's gnarly arm scar and wondering if power slap was a good idea. but yes I agree, mad respect for her scrappiness.

Same, I have no interest in watching the stuff but saw PVZ trending and could not figure out why until I saw that tweet.

I actually enjoyed it! The whole main card was very good. Personal highlight for me was Taylor Guardado’s performance. I used to think she’d go down as one of WMMA’s what ifs.. but she’s still only 32 & her last 2 performances have impressed.

Going with Bueno Silva & Robertson by sub tonight too.
 
Did anyone watch Invicta last night on the CBS Sports App? Trying to find the event on there.
 
tonight's fights were bittersweet. the savage mauled karate hottie as expected and kh reluctantly retired - but didn't leave her gloves in the cage? i guess she was overwhelmed by the moment. i'm glad ufc production gave her a clip montage send-off at least.

macy v. mayra was getting good until it was stopped due to spontaneous vaginoplasty of the forehead. macy got a bonus so i'm not mad at it. i'd like to see a rematch please.
 
Macy Chiasson scores a TKO over Mayra Bueno Silva due to doctor stoppage. That was a nasty cut over Silva's eye, from a vicious elbow during ground & pound.

Gillian Robertson dominated every round in defeating Michelle Waterson-Gomez for the UD. Robertson's striking has improved under coach Din Thomas. She stuck to the game plan of applying constant pressure and kept hunting for submissions. Thanks to Michelle for a long and often exciting career. A true martial artist. Wishing her well in the future.

I'd love to see Invicta do a rematch with her tennant next for number one contender. I think with a camp to prep Taylor wins this time.
I thought Bernardo was great as well and all the girls fought pretty hard except Saul.

In the UFC,

Nice to see Robertson put on a complete performance would love to seen a finish. I think a good next test be the other aging vet Hill.
Great career for Waterson and a good time to get out I'd love to see the UFC or another org bring her in for like interviews/commentary she's always been well spoken and thoughtful if she's interested in being involved.

I thought MBS and Macy was a great fight. Even though MBS landed more and hard in the first I think Macy was placing better shots to wear on her and MBS was looking tired in the second before that combo to the TD to the Hellbo finish. That was a good stoppage half her face was blood (maybe it's because nobody watched pfl but the cut Gonzalez got wasn't nearly as bad and nobody in the pbp cried). Macy did her job and made it so her opponent couldn't safely continue a well earned 50k. Couldn't miss seeing her and Pena next.
The good thing about MBS being rushed to the top is she can fight anyone in ye top ten next.

If I were Saul’s team, I’d sit her down and say “you’re a 5’5” Atomweight. Time to turn you into a jab machine.” Then spend at least a month straight of nothing but jab training. Singles, doubles, triples. To have that height and not utilize it is such a waste.

Saw a Pennington interview and it looks like it’s gonna be Rocky vs Peña next.

MBS does not have good cardio at 135. She needs to work on her overall S&C to win a belt at this weight class.

I think they’re going to do Macy/Kayla.

Robertson is performing well at 115. I’d like to see her fight Angela Hill next.

Same here Rizz. I watched the prelims on youtube. Then tried finding the CBS Sports channel. It kept redirecting me to sign up for hulu, paramount, fubu or paid youtube. Hoping there will be a replay on the Invicta youtube channel or the Invicta web site. I love Invicta and hope this reboot is successful. Would love to watch it live without adding yet more services I don't want.

Excellent takes.

Great seeing Robertson putting it all together. Her stance and form while striking has greatly improved. On the ground she's still a wizard. Like Michelle, she's one of those fighters who respects her opponents and engages in little drama and is always fun to watch. Plus she's a weed smoker which seems to make her pretty mellow lol. Wishing her all the best as she moves forward. Totally would love to see Michelle doing commentary with any organization. She's smart, funny, respectful and cool. Karate Hottie will always be a memorable fighter and personality to me in my gaining appreciation and love for watching mixed martial arts.

Chiasson weathered that initial storm from Sivla quite well. Silva was punching super hard. I feel like Silva fights too emotional. Like she wants a KO on every punch and then gets too discouraged when she doesn't. Frankly her wrestling and grappling left a lot to be desired, as did her cardio. Chiasson played off of the negative energy like she was playing a violin concerto. Then cracked her super hard with that hellbow. Silva's injury was brutal. You could see bone into that gash over her eye. Doctor stoppage was the proper ruling, even if Silva was crying to high heaven about it all.
