Signings/Scouting WMMA Discussion #29

At Eternal MMA on Friday, Jacinta Austin defeated Amena Hadaya to capture the Eternal flyweight title. Austin moved up in weight for the title. While I agree with the outcome, the scoring (5-0 across the board) I found wanting. It seems being a back foot heavy counter fighter just doesn’t pay.

At Deep Jewels 45 this morning, a pair of title fights took place. First, Si Woo Park moved up to strawweight for the first time, defeating MACHI via decision (4 judges to 1), capturing her first title

At microweight, Deep champ Saori Oshima took on Deep Jewels champ Aya Murakami to unify the titles. Oshima won with ease, beating Murakami in the 1st round via tko

I sponsored Oshima for this fight. Got some good shots of my logo sent to me

Oshima announced after the fight her next fight will be for Invicta FC. She didn’t say a date or opponent, though (I already know both, but can’t say yet).

Coincidentally, just posted a few hours ago:

And in their IG stories:

Weird. Invicta signs Deep Jewel's tinyweight champ.

Out of 18 fights, only 3 have been contested at microweight. 7 at atomweight, 7 at super atom (108-110), and 1 at strawweight. 97-105 is definitely where she's strongest. Her biggest weakness are ouside strikers with strong takedown defense, and of those 3 losses, 2 had moved down from strawweight.

I see on the same card that Rin Nakai fought again. <sigh>
yep. fought a replacement opponent due to her original opponent suffering an injury. Had a hard time dealing with Hime's outside striking, but got the sub in the third. had a knee injury before the fight, and apologized to the fans for not doing her usual somersault.

Oshima: I’ve signed with Invicta
Invicta: would you like to see us sign Saori Oshima?
Invicta, 24 hours later: you wanted it, we got it\

lol whoever is running their social media needs replaced. They should have asked earlier this week, so when she won they could have announced it

I see on the same card that Rin Nakai fought again. <sigh>

A sigh of wistful longing I hope

So Agapova will be getting some money, won’t be homeless. Grappling for Karate Combat’s grappling series (why do they even have one?).

Here;s the thing: doesn’t she train at Goat Shed? That guy owns KC, and they’ve had several grappling shows now. Why didn’t he offer a spot on one earlier? Guess he was too busy trying to scam people with crypto currency <Neil01>

Invicta FC 55 full card, per ticketing site Eventbrite:

Oshima’ an opponent is not who I thought it would be. Must have been a change up.lili Ferreira I knew was a lock, as she had been talking about a fight coming up on June 28th.
