Should be a good rematch. Nakamura has racked up four straight since Sawada took a majority decision in the first fight

Fatima Kline got a late notice replacement opponent in Sara Cova, and the match was moved from Strawweight title fight to flyweight title fight (guess they really wanted to put a belt on her.

fatima is getting around! i've seen her in more than one corner recently too. guess we'll be seeing her on the alongside buddy erin b soon :)

as for this weekend's ufc picks:
- ruiz v. moura almost qualifies as a freak fight (moura is 5'6", montserrat is 5' and change) iirc moura looked pretty busy in her contender fight. it's no secret that i have a soft spot for ruiz's specialist wrestling (and scarf hold), but i think moura wins through size (and weight) advantage. moura GNP

- denise gomes looks poised to be the next jessica andrade... in a few more years. loma's experience carried her over the line in her fight with dee, and i think angie will do much the same. in any case, this is my main event of the night :) angie UD

Moura by size and strong grappling.
Hill by experience especially in the clinch.

Two upsets in ONE last night.

[VARIOUS] ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade Bangkok, Thailand
Main Card – Prime Video – 8:00pm ET / 5:00pm PT

Bo Meng vs. Ayaka Miura – MMA. After some mad scrambles between the two, Miura sank in a head and arm choke for the submission victory.

Anna Jaroonsak (Supergirl) vs. Cristina Morales – Kickboxing. Morales began on the attack and never let up. Got the TKO in round one. Supergirl looked dazed and out on her feet till the fight was declared over.

Ayaka won via scarfhold keylock, not choke.

this week was easy pickings, but it did get me thinking about who the shortest/smallest strawweights are, and thanks to tapology i've compiled a short list (no pun intended) of fighters 5'2" and under:

- 5'0" : montserrat ruiz conejo, brianna fortino
- 5'1" : kanako murata, loma lookboonmee, jessica andrade, carla esparza, tecia torres, tabatha ricci
- 5'2" : denise gomes, vanessa demopoulous, emily ducote, loopy godinez,

making the shorties fight each other would be way more fun to watch :)

Nice seeing Angela Hill get the unanimous decision win. She really showed her experience along with continued improvement in wresting and grappling. Five takedowns - the most she's ever gotten in one fight.

Can't say I was blown away by Moura considering she missed weight.
future flyweight?

Saw on Twitter that noted Midwest referee Mike England has passed away. The man was a staple at Invicta’s Missouri events. Not my cup of tea as a ref, but spoke to him one time, and he came across as a genuinely nice guy. Asked me where I’m from (Pittsburgh), and then talked about the real estate boom there because of tech companies moving in.

in other news:

Conejo also got a new contract after Saturday:

While the likelihood of this getting canceled is high, after Combate first canceled every event in October, then in November, I will never not get excited by a Lucero “La Loba” Acosta fight announcement
