With his insane cardio, why isnt Cain ripped?

Simple question, would prefer serious answers, but I'm sure I'll get some bad ones.

Cain doesnt cut any weight before fights, he has solid strength and really good cardio, so why isnt he more ripped?

I'm sure since hes a fighter, he's on a pretty strict diet.

I mean no homo, outside of the Hunt, Nelson, DC, he probably has the worst physique of the quality HWs

3:00-4:10 should address any explanations you are looking for re: Cains physique. That was not a cheat meal. That was basically his regular lunch. I would expect brekky and din din are pretty similar.

The 'genes' argument is BS. If Cain cleaned up his diet, he could easily get 'ripped' and have a 6 pack and all that. He'd be smaller though, which is probably why he doesent do it.

Cain is a smallish to misdize HW. So carrying a little chunk is not really gonna hurt him and would probably help a little even.

no, you don't know that. If you're familiar with people who workout, there are those who work out for years with clean diet and still can't get a 6 pack. They'll be strong as fuck but still can't get ripped.

The cleanliness of the diet doesn't matter, it's a calorie deficiency that's necessary. The terms "clean" and "dirty" food are highly flawed. There's almost no food that is inherently unhealthy, it needs to be contextualized.

Exactly, there is no connection between cardio and bodyfat percentage.

It is all about diet and calories, he could eat less, lose weight and fat. But he will lose power, size. At hw, that bodyfat percentage is not a bad thing, he gets more weight and more strength even.

do you even lift, bro?

jk, probably genetics largely. Does anyone have his highschool or college pics? I bet he was more slim back then due to grueling wrestling training. MMA is grueling but I just think wrestling goes even one step above, plus Cain has 1-punch KO so that gives him the flexibility to eat more recklessly knowing he can end a fight in a snap, that's my guess anyway. I'd eat 1,000 calorie burritos if I knew I could win championships on the side.

Fat stores oxygen which the muscles can use when not getting enough from breathing. There is advantages to fat but you still have to carry it around.

i must say, i have better example

Well the reason they gas is because they carry huge amounts of muscle. Not because they are ripped. Idiots.

Well, I was a State champ HS and Div 1 college wrestler, and my experiences do not bear out that statement at all.

I know a lot of people who say they have a really clean diet that work out hard and are still not lean. But I do not know many that actually do have a really clean diet and work out hard and correctly that can say the same thing.

If you ask a person who works out a lot how their diet is, expect to get about the same amount of truthfulness as you would get if you asked them how often they got laid.

Cain is not lean. He has fat on him. That is most likely do due his diet. If he cleaned up his diet, he would be much leaner. He would have less fat on him. Whether that would translate into a six pack or not, I neither know nor care. But he could be lean, with a tight physique, if he were so inclined.

None of this has anything to due with his badassedness by the way.

Well it also depends on what you define as healthy or unhealthy. Some have a lot of nutrients in them pr calorie you take in, some does not.

However if we are talking weight loss only, then I agree. It is easier to feel full with lower calories per lbs thought ;)

*edit*

Not always of course. I know there are other factors. I'm just saying that tuna with 100 calories per 100 grams is more likely to keep you full compared to 640 calories per 100 grams cookies

Sweet, well I should be one of the last ones left if the world's oxygen runs out! :icon_lol:

Lol everyone's a fucking expert here.

We've got personal trainers and bisexual bathhouse gym junkies having a cow in here.

Relax, bro science bros.

It ain't that serious.

Obviously it's just Sherdog, but TS doesn't have a great deal of knowledge on the subject and asked a legitimate question.

When answers come in like "Genes. End Thread." it is embarrassing.

When people who have little knowledge on a topic claim absolute knowledge and deter someone from further seeking actual answers, the collective intelligence comes to a standstill.

Most of the time I wouldn't use the Sherdog forum as my measuring stick for collective knowledge, but people shouldn't come here and walk away stupider for the experience.

If you don't know anything about the topic (actual important topics like individual health, not 'my p4p list for december'), don't spout off either the first thing that pops into your head, or else misinformed dogma, and then declare the discussion over.

When Galileo proposed that the earth goes around the sun, the Vatican called him in and threatened to have him drawn on the rack if he didn't publicly renounce that statement because "the sun goes around the earth, /thread." And, true to the pattern at hand, they had no reason to declare this as an area of special knowledge for them because there is nothing in the Bible about the orbit of the sun and earth, one way or the other. They were just talking shit to sound authoritative, knowledgeable and important. And to end threads.

how do you determine whether or not someone has legit knowledge about a topic?

Sometimes it is self-evident.

If people want to throw around competing theories about the structure of dark matter then I'm not going to dispute any suggestion that is semi-reasonable.

If people are going to say Cain Valesquez isn't ripped because his genes don't permit it and that's that, then it's really not too far off in validity from 'the world is flat', 'the earth doesn't spin' or 'the sun goes around the earth', 'the proper treatment is to bleed the patient', etc.

Why waste oxygen on MUSSELZ?

Fedor and Cain got it right
