The effectiveness of an art, should not be gauged by it's effectiveness while in the boundaries of a ring and referree.
And how would you gauge it?

They also have just as many weaknesses as Wing Chun though?[/quote=D.R.H.;34938246]
Absolutely no!They are excellent at their thing: grappling Judo, striking MT.ALL of them are done with aliveness and pressure tested against other arts in MMA and there are numerous evidence of it being used on the streets

Lol are you really this much of an ass?
I'm actually a really nice guy.I just hate people giving respect where respect is not due.

Seriously? Reread your first sentence. "They're all good at their thing." So is Wing Chun. You even admitted earlier Wing Chun could useful against street punks, so there goes that argument. I don't know about you, but I've noticed a trend of MMA schools starting to add trapping into their bag of tricks, so they must think there's something useful there as well. I'm begining to think you're just hating for the sake of hating at this point since it's the cool thing to do.

In the case of BJJ even royce gracie took at least a minute to submit most guys when it hit the ground - not exactly street effective.

WAIT!STOP!
Wing Chun is maybe good enough against untrained fighters.I never claimed it wasn't.If that is the only use of Wing Chun its OK, but I think that say Judo will do that much better.
Seriously - go train with a good WC guy, i dont think you know anything about it tbh.
You know what else looks stupid? Just about anyone on the planet Shadowboxing.
And how would I know he is good? This is the thing that escapes me.
I know a good boxer, judo guy, karate guy etc. by his competition record. How would you spot a good WC guy?
BTW I think we are slowly coming to an agreement here.
Most good WC is in china, just like before most good BJJ was in brazil and still is. And they do compete against one another, just like Judo karate etc. Just because you are not chinese speaking, and don't know much about it, does not give you the authority to critisize them.
Okay then. Can you name some of those great WC guys and link to their competition footage.
And all I asked is how do I spot a good WC guy.
I am not going to post the fight quest vid for you again. Samuel Kwok has very good WC, if you wanted to learn anything about it, which I'm sure you don't, watch him pracitcing Chi Sao against Ip Chun. WCers compete in trapping range.
So they are only good at their limited range?
