Will Maia ever get a title shot?

Really?

Maia's last 6
Won 6 in a Row and is 9-2 at WW Also has top 10 Wins over Story, DHK & Fitch
WIN Carlos Condit Sub Rd 1 Top 10
WIN Matt Brown Sub Rd 3 Top 10
WIN Gunnar Nelson UD
WIN Neil Magny Sub Rd 2
WIN Ryan LaFlare UD
WIN Alexander Yakovlev UD
So that's 5 top 10 wins I didn't even look up where Nelson and Magny were ranked but I am pretty sure they were not top 10 at the time of their fights.

Conor heading into UFC 189 Has 5 total fights before being booked vs Aldo for the title which turned into an Interim Belt vs Chad. He had Zero top 10 wins. Was 5-0 in the UFC FW division.
WIN Dennis Siver TKO Rd 2 not ranked
WIN Dustin Poirier TKO Rd 1 no 8 ranked
WIN Diego Brandao TKO Rd 1 not ranked
WIN Max Holloway UD not ranked
WIN Marcus Brimage TKO Rd1 not ranked

Not sure what your analysis consisted of but these records arent the same.
Not sure where you got your facts from but Poirier was #5 and Siver was top 10. Also Mendes was the #1 contender and even after Mcgregor beat him people still thought he didn't deserve a title shot.

No fan uproar over Maia and will therefore be low priority, might get last minute offer but as long as there are 30 new WMMA threads and 1 Maia-getting-screwed thread he will continue to be in the background. He deserves shot but even the people who agree only do so begrudgingly, he is a boring fighter with no obvious KO ability.
Correct, I'm a noob who doesn't understand jack shit but people trying to punch each other...

He's not a boring fighter for people who likes grappling....

He had one at MW dumb shit

You are the worst kind of stupid. Read...think...then respond.

I'll explain and do try to keep up here. The logic can be difficult.

The first two words in the thread say Tyron Woodley. Do you think the thread pertains or is referring to a MW title shot ? Did I need to add WW to the title for you to clear logical chasm?

No one wants to see maia as champ. That's just laughable. If he was champion it would be like a bisping scenario. We'd know he's not the most dangerous guy.
Bisping is not the best in his division and getting easy picks, even his victory for the title was luck.
Maia has never won in a fluke (style) and has a legit argument at being the best welterweight in the world.
He is a bad striker but is by far the most dangerous grappler.

I went by Sherdog's rankings at the time of the fights. Siver was not top 10 and Poirer was whatever I put. I believe UFC popped Siver into the top 10 and they also pushed Nate up to #4 but that doesn't make it a true UNBIASED ranking and I used Sherdog as Unbiased. McGregor was booked to fight for the title before they put him in vs Mendes and Frankie should have been above Mendes IMO. Conor had beaten only one top 10 FW when he fought for the title, Maia has fought 6 and beat 5 with a split to the other top 10 WW he faced. I am not hating on Conor but making a case for Maia. McGregor is a draw and got his shot(s) mostly based on that but he was the only one in the cage vs Mendes, Aldo and Alvarez so good for him. Maia has earned his WW title shot.

Boohoo! Maia's been crying for his titleshot for years now. Guy can cry longer. Reality is WW division is stacked, and there's plenty of other guys that deserve shots too, and most of them aren't dull like he is!
Besides Wonderboy getting a rematch who else is on this long list of WW contenders that deserve a titleshot ahead of Maia? GSP is still retired but I would put him 1st so then who?

Poirier was not top 5 and Siver was not top 10 lol

Where do you even get this shit from

The funny thing is, not only is Maia #2 in the divisions, he's #2 by fairly large margin. Everyone else matches up poorly with him on paper.

Lawler? Wonderboy? Tailor made.

Except the thing is, not a lot of fighters can make a case over Maia. Wonderboy I'll give ya. Other than him, Maia's got this thing locked up tighter than one of his chokes. He's on a six fight win streak with wins over the current #4 Condit, #8 Magny, #10 Nelson, and #14 Brown. During his 9-2 tenure at WW, he's also beaten #7 Kim, and #9 Story. That's six of the current top fifteen welterweights that Maia has a direct case over.

#2 Lawler is coming off a loss to the champion, and needs a win to get back in the mix.
#5 Cerrone is on a four fight win streak in the division, but only has top fifteen wins over #9 Story and #14 Brown.
#6 Larkin might not resign with the UFC, but even if he does, he only has a two fight win streak with wins over #8 Magny and #12 Masvidal.
#11 Hendricks is in shambles and can't win a fight these days to save his life.
#12 Masvidal is only on a two fight win streak with a win over #15 Ellenberger.
#13 Saffiedine is on a two fight losing streak.
#15 Ellenberger is 2-6 in his last eight.

I realize not everything is predicated on divisional rankings and accomplishments these days, but if Maia gets one more win over a top ten welterweight, it's going to be almost criminal to deny the man his shot at the title.

Poirier was not top 5 and Siver was not top 10 lol

From my memory but just to make sure I looked it up. Poirier was ranked 5th and Siver was 10th. You're too stupid to look shit up and you probably get shitfaced when you watch fights which is why you can't remember.

I think he will either get a title shot in 2017, or else it will be announced in 2017 and happen in early 2018.

It should be wonderboy next, their fight needs to be settled. After that it has to be Maia he is on a hell of a streak

Id like to see it! When some one is that great in one aspect of the game it gets really interesting IMO.

It's disgraceful that Shidoshi Maia didn't get his shot.
