Will Maia ever get a title shot?

Of he doesn't get it now, he can fight a top contender for a guaranteed title shot

Boohoo! Maia's been crying for his titleshot for years now. Guy can cry longer. Reality is WW division is stacked, and there's plenty of other guys that deserve shots too, and most of them aren't dull like he is!
Maia is one of the most exciting fighters in the division. He's also the most dangerous. That's more than enough.

Just because you don't understand his game, doesn't mean he's not exciting. You're just ignorant. Ignorant people become bored easily because they can't connect with a greater number things.

The reality is, Maia would have finished Wonderboy, while Woodley struggled to do much besides a couple of right hands.

I find grappling much more exciting than watching two guys dance in front of each other for 5 rounds knowing that both are too afraid to push the fight.

If you found Woodley vs. Wonderboy "exciting" then you're a pretty easy date. Now we get to watch another session of ultimate paddy cake.

Lombard would dust maia

If I bought the UFC for 4.2 billion bucks and needed to make as much money as I can off PPV sales then its a no brainer. He doesn't have the personality to sell a main event. Hyperbole is everything with the UFC now. He more than deserves it off merit of his wins but at this point its about straight up money for the UFC and he isn't the draw that will help line their pockets. I mean, what if he wins? UFC would hate to think of what those future PPV buys would be.

Also, at this point Maia would be the favorite over Wonderboy, and Woodley. Maia is a dream crusher, and I would love to see him champ if only to piss off casual fans, and depress the UFC management.

Also, even if Maia left the UFC, the guy would basic clean out any lower tier organizations roster. He could conceivably fight successfully well into his 40's. He's taken so little damage while the rest of these oafs play rock 'em sock 'em robots for the sake of attention.
this.

Dont mark my words but will get his title shot after he strangles wonderboy (while tyron goes off to fight another ) then he will smother tyron and defend against cowboy

The run Maia is on is similar to the run Mcgregor was on before getting a shot at Aldo yet people say Mcgregor didn't deserve his title shot. People demanded Mcgregor fight the #1 or #2 contender yet Maia is somehow overdue for a title shot?
you can't seriously believe that. The only top fighter Conor fought was Dustin. Maia has beaten contenders.

Maia spent some of his best years flopping his dick around in the cage because the UFC does not want to sell him as champion material.

Maia would be severely stuck in the mud here. He'd get clipped and it would be done. Maia is slow and he's lost to a lot of good wrestlers. Check his record. Lombard has that Olympic judo. Maia is the perfect style match up for him.

Son, a Judo anything has nothing Maia hasn't seen before, and Maia probably has better Judo takedowns than even Lombard; at least in MMA. Lombard hasn't really shown any kind of wide skillset, except being a big puncher.

Also, what you think, and what the stats say are two different things. You can think whatever you want, but on paper, Lombard is a perfect match-up for Maia because of his aggressiveness. The more aggressive you are with Maia, the easier it is for him to close the distance, and turn it into a grappling match. He excels at this more than any other fighter.

Silva learned this which is why he refused to engage Maia for almost the entire fight. You don't fight Maia by trying to constantly take his head off. Maia has only been TKO'd once in his entire career. I repeat Demian Maia has only been TKO'd once in his entire career, and you think Lombard's hands are the deciding factor?

Finally, Lombard is not in the hunt. Fighting Lombard would be a step down for Maia. He's not on his radar.

Ummm.....
Siver went from 14th to 9th after the Conor fight was announced and no way was Diamond top 5. He was definitely 6-10 but not 5.
Just like Nate went from nº 9 or 10 to nº 4 after the Conor fight. And the BS circus went on and on until they finally gave him the 2 belts they always wanted him to have.... aaaand without ever defending the FW belt or even fighting in the LW division at all. Got choked out by Nate, then barely got a controversial running away weak majority decision, and then TS????????? lol.... why not a parade down Broadway too?

Really?

Maia's last 6
Won 6 in a Row and is 9-2 at WW Also has top 10 Wins over Story, DHK & Fitch
WIN Carlos Condit Sub Rd 1 Top 10
WIN Matt Brown Sub Rd 3 Top 10
WIN Gunnar Nelson UD
WIN Neil Magny Sub Rd 2
WIN Ryan LaFlare UD
WIN Alexander Yakovlev UD
So that's 5 top 10 wins I didn't even look up where Nelson and Magny were ranked but I am pretty sure they were not top 10 at the time of their fights.

Conor heading into UFC 189 Has 5 total fights before being booked vs Aldo for the title which turned into an Interim Belt vs Chad. He had EDIT (said ZERO) ONE top 10 win. Was 5-0 in the UFC FW division.
WIN Dennis Siver TKO Rd 2 not ranked
WIN Dustin Poirier TKO Rd 1 no 8 ranked
WIN Diego Brandao TKO Rd 1 not ranked
WIN Max Holloway UD not ranked
WIN Marcus Brimage TKO Rd1 not ranked

Not sure what your analysis consisted of but these records arent the same.

Well, then the sport is officially dead in any meaningful since.

Tyron Woodley, would rather fight Diaz, GSP, Bisping, Wonderboy, McGregor...and the list likely goes on.

Maia stated in a recent interview:

“I have some contacts and I know they offered some people to Tyron Woodley, but they didn’t offer him to me, and that for me sounds strange. I don’t know which direction this sport is going. I know ‘Wonderboy’ and a couple of other guys (were offered). It’s really weird what is happening right now. In other times, I would be fighting for the title. I’m really sad about that because, why didn’t they offer Woodley to me? I’m the next guy. The only thing they can do is the rematch, and if it’s not the rematch, it’s me. It’s sad.”

Will Maia ever get his shot?????
Never
They will keep Maia out until someone beats him or he becimes the last one deserving it,Just like they did with Machida.
Wait and see.

No fan uproar over Maia and will therefore be low priority, might get last minute offer but as long as there are 30 new WMMA threads and 1 Maia-getting-screwed thread he will continue to be in the background. He deserves shot but even the people who agree only do so begrudgingly, he is a boring fighter with no obvious KO ability.
