Will Conor McGregor be another Erick Silva?

He hasn't fought anyone in the level of Fitch or DHK yet, so it's hard to know

Does McGregor punch with his right hand (or non-punching hand) at his hip while his opponent is advancing and also throwing a punch?

Great analyst, thats what i was recognizing too. a lot of fighters tend to let their non punching hand down, when they want to counter....thats a mistake even the elite fighters like machida do.

but i wouldnt worry much about conor: he moves his head well while moving backwards, keeping his both hands up and looks to circle the right way, also he has a boxing background which will help him alot, unlike silva who relies on athleticlism and explosiv reaction

I bet people wondered if Jesus would just be another carpenter as well.

Truthfully, I have not seen much of Connor, so I can't comment on his technique. I noticed that Silva has a horrible habit of doing this, even as his opponents are coming in and are the first to engage. It seems to me like a mistake inexperienced fighters make. Silva is super talented, but god damn, bring your hands up man!

I actually noticed this in the prefight when they showed him hitting pads. He was basically posing after the last punch of each combo. I was thinking he better not do that shit in the cage. Well, he didn't do it as badly, but the picture speaks for itself. It wasn't the only time either.

never understood why its so hard for mma fighters to keep their hands up

Blows my mind. If you find out, be sure to let me know, ok?

I get it in certain situations. DYK was relentless in with takedowns, and I understand why fighters drop their hands to get underhooks or sprawl. But for fuck sake he was throwing a punch here. It is pretty basic stuff to keep your non punching hand up to your face and keep your chin down when punching.

I like Conor but have zero idea why people are calling him the GOAT? I hope all the hype doesnt get to him.

He is the GOAT of post fight press confrences.

Silva made a mistake in the last fight, he was taking the fight over.

We will see Conor when he starts facing the Fitches

Good examples. Note in the first pic he is pursuing, while still keeping that non punching hand in a good place. In the second, Cain is in perfect position to block and avoid damage.

he left his chin prettty exposed in last fight idk if it cause he stays on all offense or wasnt scared of holloway but hope he doesnt do that against a real striker...got mad potential hope is acl holds up
