Both guys are athletic, explosive, and fluid, as you said TS. McGregor, to his advantage, also has great footwork (and I do mean great), very good boxing mainly with his counter-punching game (for MMA), and he is fast with heavy hands and great timing. His setups are nice too and he's very accurate with his punches (see the Brimage fight, his UFC debut). He can lead and counter but countering is definitely his forte. If an aggressive striker tries to swarm him right off the bat then he'll be face down in roughly 60 seconds or so, if not less (depends on how good their chin is).
Silva isn't as good of a striker as McGregor and the guy lacks the all around technicality that he has. McGregor's grappling is definitely coming along too and he'll have a ways to go with it but his TD's are good (and were before he entered the UFC) and his TDD is noticeably better than it was early on in his career. He'll continue to improve and dazzle, I have no doubt. Will his ACL take some pep out of his step? Possibly. We'll have to see. He's still very young yet.
