Will an Indian ever hold a UFC strap?

I dated a cute indian woman, they all listen to there parents and there parents don't want them doing anything that has a slight chance of not being successful, she said thats why you don't see alot of famous musicians or actors that are indian because its a high chance of failure

Was her place dirty(was she straight from India or Americanized? There was a cute Indian girl(IT chick from India) who ask me if I could give her a ride to the train station a while ago. She lived with roommates but they were all gone so I drove over to her apartment and went in. My first thought stepping into her apartment was "what a fucking shit hole". I couldn't believe how dirty they kept the place. She was immediately apologizing for the mess. It was an eye opener that even though she was showing up to work dressing nice the reality was this is a person who came over from a very poor country and her and her roommates kept their apartment like it was some third world shit hole.

Tons of people calling Indian's nonathletic with bad genes in this thread. Thought I'd clarify a bit..

Their parents don't allow many extra curricular activities, if any at all. It's all about school. I have a current friend who's been in Canada for about 4 months and he told me stories about how his dad would get mad at him if he went to the gym, as that time could have been better spent studying. Eventually, he prohibited him from doing so. Isn't that absurd?

Not all Indians have bad genetics. I know your opinions are biased but if you ever seen the Indians in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, you would know that they are no joke. They excel at basketball, soccer and even boxing here. Baby steps.

I think the UFC recently signed an Indo-Canadian heavyweight. I don't think he's champ material, but I'm excited to see another local fighter.

Arjan Bhullar is his name.
Yeah. He is Olympic level wrestler and DC is his mentor for MMA. I can't wait for his next fight

Based on the form I see out of them at the gym not too many of them have the hand eye coordination.

:P I thought this was an Indian American thread!

Anyhow, I "could" see a native American champ. A lot of those guys are huge and just physically strong as hell without doing ANY type of exercise their whole life.

arjan bhullar is trash, the only reason the ufc is giving him a chance is because they want to expand their market and brand in India. Its entirely monetary

If Arjan was black or white he would be a bus driver

Just look at his low lean muscle mass, high body fat and slow twitch fibers. He stands no chance with an average fighters

Indians always hype mediocre athletes

I remember when indians were hyping Sim bhullar in the NBA. What happened to him? he didn't do jack and disappeared. he was only given a chance because the owner of the team was indian

Also lets take a look at india's greatest boxer Vjiender singh. He recently fought a chinese boxer and nearly got knocked out but was gifted the hometown decision. The chinaman was a nobody too

So what is the common theme with indian athletes? They seem to be out of shape, low lean muscle mass, lack of stamina and strength and they have no explosiveness

I didn't know he had ties to DC. That's awesome. I've just heard of him locally as a wrestling coach/fighter.

How bizarre. You seem really invested in this. Bhullar is getting a chance, just a chance, by becoming a champ in a local organization. A few different guys have and are getting a chance by becoming champs from the same organization.

I've heard Chris "Bukwas" Anderson is also getting signed from Battlefield.

In his day, Jim Thorpe was widely considered the best all around athlete in the world. He was Sac and Fox iirc.

Its not bizarre at all considering the topic title. What else are we suppose to be discussing

There is always an exception for genetics but for the most part Indians generally have shit genetics. This Indian guy is like one in a billion though, 6 foot 4 300lbs. Apparently he’s a vegetarian too.

But yeah, Indians just have it shitty with genetics department unless you’re that guy

That might be true about a lot of Indian athletes but Arjan Bhullar looks like a very powerfully built dude. The fact that he made the Canadian Olympic team shows he is an elite athlete.

I am not Indian. I am white but I think you are trying to make a generalization about Bhullar. I think he has more potential than most of the other HW prospects I am seeing

Vijender Singh is a joke in boxing. He's a (super)middleweight who kept calling out a (light)welterweight Amir Khan. And Vijender wasn't even ranked at the time, nevermind fight for a world title!

That one callout alone got Indians to turn him into some sort of national hero, and started putting some money behind boxing.

Indians have the most absurd obsession with Pakistanis. I've seen Africans being accused of being Pakistanis by Indians on youtube cuz they happened to have a certain name they associate with Pakis.

Only way to find out is to wait. lets wait and see. When is his next fight?

My honest opinion is that he is mediocre and wont go far
