Will an Indian ever hold a UFC strap?

An Indian UFC fighter just received a 2 year ban

Almost certain it was through osmosis - see attached pic of JJ with his hand on the suspended fighter's shoulder:

At my high school Gym, we alternated sports for 2 week cycles, and we played badminton, I got to the finals of a tournament and lost to the Indian in a close match. That was the best Indian athlete in a real sport(sort of a sport) that I've ever seen....

No. They all look like grasshoppers.
Maybe they can be good runners.

I suggest we call it the "Show Bobs and Vagene plz" Strap

This old thread seems to be gaining traction. Here's my 2 cents (even though we don't use them in Canada anymore) as an Indian, and more specifically, a Sikh Punjabi. I was born in a village in India receiving the type of nourishment and medical care/facilities you would expect in a village in India in the 70's. The Punjabi kids being born and raised in the Toronto area today are not the Punjabi kids me and my friends were. There are the occasional small guys, but most of these kids are of average size and fairly big - they are going to the gym, lifting weights and are far bigger and stronger than me and my friends were at the same age many years ago. That doesn't automatically translate in to better athletes, but it does mean that a change is happening.
As new immigrants, my parents didn't know about recreational sports nor could they afford to put us into them if they did. The Canadians and Americans of Indian descent that are being raised and educated here, are a lot different from our parents. The ability to afford athletic programs, and the greater awareness and acceptance of them by us (as opposed to our parents) will change the percentage of Indians in participating in sport in North America. Doesn't mean for one second that there will be an Indian champ, but we are participating more and in more sports than just one generation ago.

cultural change among Indians and sports it taking place
north America you have parents that put there kids into sports at a young age and push them
to become pro or Olympians

indian culture doesn't really value sports. There is no pride in sports that is why india lacks facilities and most of south asia don't care about how they do in Olympics

Chief Bromden from "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" would have been a UFC champion

Maybe one day but I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future as most indians are heavily into secure jobs, entrepreneurship, programming, accounting, medicine, etc... Not many pursue athletics

I work with a ton of Indians and they don't seem to be into MMA much. That said, India is a massive country with over a billion people. One would think they'd be able to produce a top tier fighter or two.

However all the Indians I work with don't seem to possess an athletic bone in their body. I'm confident that if my office had an open weight tournament I'd at least make it to the finals.

So, will we ever see Dana putting the belt on an Indian fighter?

You HAVE to be someone of Caucasian decent to ask some shit like that. <45>
