Why was Cowboy a popular fighter?

He was literally a fighter willing to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime.

How can you hate a fighter with that attitude?

Imo he always tells some sort of story, even his losses are curious when you think about the contrast of how game he was to fight anyone but also how much certain personality types and clashes affected his psychological mojo. Like some sort of fight and flight rich cowboy who didn't need to really fight for a living, totally fascinating character.

Has to be a future HOF fighter.

Journeyman are usually guys who aren’t in the Top 15 let alone fighting for titles. Cowboy also literally battered the current Lightweight champion.

So by that logic - any one who has ever fought for a title is not a journeyman?

But, fair @ him kicking Charles' ass. But for the most part he's gotten HIS ass beat by top comp.

Theorizing that Cowboy is a popular fighter because he wears a cowboy hat, rather than because of what he did inside the Octagon exposed you as a casual or noob who is clueless about the history of MMA.

Nothing wrong with being a casual or noob, but use your brain dude.

More like the exact opposite

Absolutely I take it you’ve never really watched boxing. People who fight for titles and are perennially in the Top 10 or Top 15 aren’t journeyman; they’re called contenders.

He fought 4-5 times per year, was always involved in entertaining fights, had an outgoing personality, and marketed himself well. It’s not rocket science.

He fights a lot and generally has exciting fights. His cowboy shtick doesn't hurt.
