Why was Conor Khabib's toughest opponent?

Well for 1, Conor was clearly underestimating Nate since he was a big favorite going into the fight. Conor was -380 Nate was +290 in the first fight.

Conor couldn't possibly underestimating Khabib, when Khabib was the favorite to win not even Conor.
Khabib was -160 favorite while Conor was +130.

Secondly, Conor cheated ''a lot'' to survive the first rounds against Khabib, almost every way possible other than biting and eye poking.

Conor never attempt to cheat against Nate in the first fight. He can panic wrestle, that's not comparable to cheating.

Thirdly, so called ''striker'' Nate, even at 170, he couldn't drop Conor with his pillow hands.

While Khabib drops Conor with a single punch at 155, and toyed with him.

Something ''striker'' Nate couldn't do even at 170, even when they stand and trade for more than 30 minutes total in 2 fights.

And lastly, Nate also had reach advantage against Conor, (Nate's reach= 76' , Conor's reach=74') that's something Conor is not familiar with in his entire career. Conor had a huge reach advantage (Khabib's reach=70') against Khabib and he still got dropped.

This is really the story of that fight. Conor still got his ass kicked, but if not for a ridiculous amount of cheating that fight would have been over much faster. The fence and glove grabbing were annoying, especially since they went on for so long even though Herb was looking right at it. But the knee to the head was so obvious and should have been a point deduction.

Definitely wasn’t Dennis Siver or Cerrone.

LOL
sorry, but we didn't watch the same fight, let alone share the same reality.

Conor won a round because Khabib took a break.
Khabib took a break to show he could stand and bang with Conor, a thing Conor fanboys would NEVER accept. And Khabib almost KO'd Conor, just to add to the humiliation in that fight.

Khabib allowed Conor to strike more against him to show he could take it. Same ad Floyd did, by the way. They both toyed with Conor and then showed he was not on their level.

Conor had nothing for Khabib, same as he had nothing for Floyd.

It is amazing and amusing the fact Conor fanboys still did not grasp the reality of his failure.

Sorry, when exactly did Khabib "almost" KO Conor??

I am pretty sure there was nothing close to that. Unless it's the GNP in round 2?

it’s weird how how even khabib’s coaches recognized conor as his biggest threat but people raging on a forum can’t

Tibau beat him
Khabib was standing there heart broken almost crying when they were getting ready to read the scores. Dude knew he took an L and was heart broken. Then they gave him the fight somehow, apparently going 0/13 on takedowns and landing fewer strikes wins fights.

TS did it again, stop feeding him:

Seismic was last seen: Sunday at 8:01 PM

lol
sorry, kid. But you are far too gone.
So cheating is ok, the fact COnor was almost KO'd is fine as long as the judges gave him the round, and Khabib could not take a break.

and all of it just so you have (in your mind) a small victory of winning a round.
Take it, kid.
He lost the war, and you can't stomach it.

I'm just stating a fact. Conor was Khabib's toughest opponent. You're the one doing mental gymnastics to avoid admitting this.

I give Khabib all the credit, if he continued his career and achieved more he could have been GOAT (although this likely wasn't possible due to the problems with cutting weight). Conor also has to be given credit, however, for being his toughest fight.

It doesn't make any sense. How on earth did a "washed" "Not even a top 10 LW" Conor return from boxing and a whirlwind of partying yet somehow

1. Win a round?

2. Achieve the highest sig strikes (51) success of any Khabib opponent? (For comparison, Poirier landed 12)

3. Get taken down just 3 times in 4 rounds? (For comparison Poirier 7 times in 3 rounds, Al Laquinta 6 times in 5 rounds, RDA 6 times in 3 rounds)

4. Make it to round 4? Only Al Laquinta lasted longer.

A performance made all the more extraordinary given how much Khabib wanted to destroy Conor more than any other opponent and how easily Khabib would later (with retirement on his mind and one foot already out of MMA) defeat Dustin and Gaethje, who he 'didn't want to hurt'

Conor's performance goes a long way to explain Khabib's post fight psychotic rage and refusal to grant Conor a deserved rematch, he was clearly stunned by Conor's performance and who could blame him?

People hate on Conor but at his best he destroyed the #1 (or2) at the time fighter in the World. He ate Khabib's best punch, as hard as someone could throw a right hand, he ate it on the jaw and barely went down, that changes a man. Khabib knew nothing he landed would hurt Conor and he was touched a few times, he worried about his gas tank so he made it methodical. A dominate win by the GOAT 155er but Conor put up one hell of a fight.

He spent 2 rounds standing and striking instead of wrestling.

it called winning. mr boring himself gsp said all that mattered was winning an he didnt care if you though it was boring or weak cuase there wasnt

He basically did nothing to Tibau and arguably lost. I'd say Tibau was his toughest opponent.

Id say Tibau was his toughest fight. He could not implement his game plan with Tibau. Everyone else he pretty much did whatever he wanted. Whether that be grappling or standing when he chose to. Plus, called or not called the 19 fouls Conor committed have to come into play when discussing how hard of a fight it was.

Why was Conor Khabib's toughest opponent?

Ahh, he wasn't...

Though there are a lot more times Khabib kicked Conor's arse.
I just didn't want to bring you those memories your mind probably blocked for self-preservation purposes

I disagree with you though.
I think DP was Khabib's toughest opponent.

And I think Khabib was Conor's, but mainly due to style.
I equaled Conor & Khabib with Cain & Junior.
One will impose their will and make it look easy. But the fight favors Khabib more and more, the longer the fight continued.

But let us not make it an ode for Conor. Khabib, on paper, was someone he could smash if he had his timing & distance (which he probably lost while out partying)..
Though that was his own doing, so I give him no props or medals of honor for it.

Sure, I had to do that considering the "massive" diehard Conor fan that I am. He's right in there with Wanderlei, Shogun, Big Nog, Barnett, Lawler, Sergei, Anderson......he just fits right into that group.

{<huh}

I hope you can read my sarcasm. I couldn't care less about Conor. I don't love or hate the man.

Anyhow, in regards to your little fantasy there. No, Khabib didn't almost KO Conor, he didn't even come close, he didn't even hurt him, hell, he didn't even knock him down. He landed a nice punch and that's it. So I'll go ahead and show you the rest of the gif, after his punch.

A fighter that was "almost" KO'd wouldn't , wouldn't stay upward, avoid the ensuing knee, reverse the position and then follow up with a offensive knee of his own.

Here are examples of someone "almost" getting KOd. I'll provide two different scenarios.
