People have asked why many fans consider Chandler to be fake. This respone to Helen Yee (timestamped) is a good example of why he comes off as fake. Yee asks him about Conor's comments about Poirier's family & Khabib's dad, instead of speaking honestly Chandler gives an absurd response to avoid saying anything bad about Conor, you can literally see the wheels turning in his head as he's angling for a future Conor fight. No honesty at all. He will just say what he needs to at the moment.

I see nothing in that clip that would cause me to dislike Chandler. Chandler has been a consummate professional, who has spent the majority of his career in relative obscurity in Bellator, and is only now finally getting the pay and recognition he has long deserved.

He portrays himself as a classy guy and consummate professional and yet he can't bring himself to say Conor's behavior was out of line? And all for a payday. Which is cool, good for him for chasing the money. But it's not congruent with the image he seeks to portray of himself. In other words, he's fake.

Reddit hates him because he is a racist Trump supporter with a black son and friends of multiple races.

Sherdog hates him cause he is short.
i don't care about his politics, and good for him for adopting a black guy but the UFC shouldn't shove that into our faces. I don't like him because he's fake as hell. Not a genuine person.

I don't see Chandler as fake. I see him as a competitor that likes to conduct himself professionally. I don't see anything fake about that, it genuinely seems like who he has been for like a decade or more.
Fair enough, we each have our opinions. He comes off as super fake to me. Seems like people 50-50, some think he's a swell guy and others think he's fake.

How is that fake, classy people tend not to talk bad about people, even when they could. So him not talking bad about someone seems perfectly in line with how he portrays himself. You seem to want a reason to dislike him so you picked one even if it doesn't make sense.

Lol. Is that what you say everytime a fighter has their kid on camera? You really are a weirdo racist.

Has nothing to do with race, but why is UFC featuring MIchael Chandler for black history month? It was just weird. Especially considering that it was on a card in which the headlining fight was 2 black guys who were long time UFC veterans (Lewis v Blades), why didn't they do a story about one of them? They had to trot out a white guy for Black history month when the UFC has dozens of legendary black fighters on their roster through history? Lol it was bizarre.

Its not Chandler's responsibility to diss Conor. WTF?

No, classy guys call out bad behavior and take principled stands. Conor has been acting like a school yard bully to both Dustin & Khabib. By your logic refusing to condemn the bad behavior of a bully is "classy".

LMAO you are calling Chandler fake cause you say he portrays himself as classy and you want him to say something bad about someone. You make no sense.

Meh. He definitely has a "media mode" where he puts on a bit of a different persona. Similar to professional athletes in most sports. I guess fighting is a bit different, but I still wouldn't really call it being fake. He's just a professional who is always considering his career when he answers a question, can't really blame the guy. Overall he seems like a decent enough guy, and he's a good entertaining fighter which is what matters most.

He just entitled, thinking Welfarator champ means he's GOAT. Given a free title opportunity after beating a gatekeeper, now I see he is trying to get Poirier out of the picture with that 4th Colin fight.
